Created by Julian Fellowes period drama premiered on the WarnerMedia-backed premium cable network on January 24, 2022.

The Gilded Age Season 2 Renewal Status

The Gilded Age Season 2 is officially renewed. The renewal of The Gilded Age Season 2 was announced by Francesca Orsi, the executive vice president of HBO in a statement which reads, “Julian Fellowes and the entire ‘Gilded Age’ family have thoroughly captivated us with their tale of late 19th century New York City extravagance. Along with our partners at Universal Television, we couldn’t be prouder to embark on a season two journey with this extraordinarily talented team.”

The Gilded Age Season 2 Release Date

As of now, there is no official release date for The Gilded Age Season 2 yet. And it’s too early to ask for one given the fact that Season 1 went on air in January and its last episode is all set to air on March 21, 2022. If we are to predict, then we may see The Gilded Age Season 2 somewhere in 2023, if all goes well. However, the makers are the decision-makers and it’s all up to them when best we can see Season 2.

The only solid proof we have for The Gilded Age Season 2 is an official renewal announcement. Everything else has been kept under the wraps and hence, there is no trailer yet. We can expect the trailer near the release of the new season which means that we will have to wait some time for it.

How many episodes are there in The Gilded Age Season 1?

Season 1 comprises 9 episodes in total, 7 of them have been already released and the schedule for the remaining 2 episodes is as stated below:

  • Episode 8: March 14, 2022
  • Episode 9: March 21, 2022

Is The Gilded Age based on a true story?

Although the story took place in a real historical time period, it does not follow any true story and is not based on any of it. George Russell, the new money “robber baron” in the series is a fictional version of a real historical figure and not a real person.

Reception of The Gilded Age Season 1

The well-written and well-casted season had a pretty good rating. The season was also praised by the President of Universal Television. Her statement read, “The first season of The Gilded Age is the beginning of an epic story that introduced a fascinating world full of intriguing characters. The scope of Julian’s vision is ambitious, and we’re thrilled to continue to explore the depths of this fascinating era with HBO.” She even mentioned how thrilled she is to announce the renewal of the series.
