Jennie’s Acting Debut in ‘The Idol’

Jennie recently made her Hollywood acting debut in the film ‘The Idol’. She portrays the character Dyanne, a backup dancer for Joclyne, played by Lily-Rose Depp. Although Jennie’s role is a supporting one, it is significant to the storyline. As the ambassador of Chanel, Jennie attended the 75th Cannes Film Festival on May 22, wearing the brand’s attire for the premiere after-party of ‘The Idol’. The film has garnered mixed reviews from K-pop fans and BLACKPINK’s fandom, Blinks, around the world.

Update on Jennie’s Health

On June 11, during the second day of the BORN PINK concert in Melbourne, Jennie abruptly left the stage due to health reasons. The other BLACKPINK members had to continue the performance without her. YG Entertainment released an official statement expressing regret that Jennie had to leave mid-concert due to worsening conditions. Jennie personally apologized for her early departure and expressed her desire to give her best and perform until the end. The staff promptly followed medical advice and took appropriate action. YG Entertainment requested support and prayers from fans for Jennie’s speedy recovery.

In conclusion, YG Entertainment has clarified that they have not received any offer for Jennie to portray an Asian superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, fans can still anticipate seeing her in upcoming episodes of ‘The Idol’. The hope remains that Jennie will soon return to the stage of the BORN PINK concert in good health.
