Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Plot: What to expect?
Jujutsu Kaisen is an anime television series based on the manga series of the same name by Gege Akutami. The series adaptation follows high school student Yuji Itadori as he joins a secret organization of Jujutsu Sorcerers in order to kill a powerful Curse named Ryomen Sukuna, of whom Yuji becomes the host.
The overall plot of the series, as described by Crunchyroll, is as follows:
“Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life. One day, to save a classmate who has been attacked by curses, he eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, taking the curse into his own soul. From then on, he shares one body with Ryomen Sukuna. Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Satoru Gojo, Itadori is admitted to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the curses… and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a curse to exorcise a curse, a life from which he could never turn back.”
The next season is also expected to pick up the plotlines from the first season’s final episode, “Accomplices,” in which the viewers saw Yuji and Nobara are infected by the cursed womb brothers’ Decay technique that will rot their bodies away in minutes. Nobara uses her own technique to turn the tables on the brothers and kills them both with Yuji. After the battle, they reflect on having killed actual humans instead of cursed spirits.
Later, they find Megumi asleep with Sukuna’s finger. When he awakes, he warns Yuji not to eat the finger, but Sukuna eats it before either of them can react. Two days later, Gojo talks to Utahime about the traitor in the school and sends a large payment to another sorcerer, Mei Mei. Aoi and Mei Mei meet Yoshinobu to recommend Yuji, Megumi, Nobara, Maki, and Panda to be classified as Grade 1 Sorcerers.
