Will there be another season or not?
Sadly, the end of the road has finally arrived upon the beloved sports comedy-drama television series which is developed by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly, based on a character that Sudeikis first portrayed in a series of promotional media for NBC Sports’ coverage of England’s Premier League. Jason Sudeikis who plays Ted Lasso also revealed that he and the show’s team had told the story they wanted to tell, quote:
“This is the end of this story that we wanted to tell, that we were hoping to tell, that we loved to tell. The fact that folks will want more and are curious beyond more than what they don’t even know yet—that being Season 3—it’s flattering. Maybe by May 31, once all 12 episodes of the season [have been released], they’re like, ‘Man, you know what, we get it, we’re fine. We don’t need anymore, we got it.’ But until that time comes, I will appreciate the curiosity beyond what we’ve come up with so far.”
Will there be any future spin-offs?
There is a possibility of spin-offs being in development, as suggested by Sudeikis, quote:
“Yeah, I think that we’ve set the table for all sorts of folks…to get to watch the further telling of these stories,” he said. “Again, I can’t help but take the question as flattery for what all of us that were working on the show have tried to do. It’s really kind of folks to even consider that because you never know what’s gonna happen when you make things. The fact that people want more, even if it’s a different avenue is lovely.”
Moreover, Brendan Hunt, who plays Coach Beard in the Warner Bros. Television-produced series, is the latest to respond during a Reddit AMA session wrote, quote, “My pat answer, that is also 100% true: We don’t know. We need a break and will take one presently. Nothing has been ruled out, everything is possible, but that includes the possibility that we’re done. We won’t know until we’ve sat with it for a while [and] decompressed.”
Hannah Waddingham, who plays Rebecca Welton, also expressed similar thoughts to Deadline, quoting, “I genuinely have no idea—none of us does [if this is the series finale]. I think the only person that may be keeping it under his hat, and rightly so, is Jason. But we all certainly took it as the end of this three seasons’ story and just tried to honor it the best we could.”
“It’ll be quite emotional actually, because who knows whether it’s the very, very end or not or whether there’ll be more after a break,” Nick Mohammed, who plays Nathan Shelley, told Esquire. “I don’t know whether it comes back as a film. I’ve heard rumors of spinoffs… Who knows?” A Coach Nate spinoff? Sign us up! Mohammed felt it may not be “quite right” to solely focus on Nate, however, “just because that character, I feel, has been on such a journey over these three seasons already.”
Recently, Apple also fueled spinoff rumors by tweeting a photo of Nate, Roy, and Beard with the phrase, “smells like potential.” To add more fuel to the fire, Mohammad himself shared the image, complete with the zipper-mouth emoji, which kind of seems like a possible confirmation for the future. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens next. Until then, just like the fans, our fingers are crossed, and we are praying for more stories to be approved and developed in this universe.

Will there be a female-focused spin-off series?
There has been much discussion of a female-focused spinoff series starring Juno Temple and Waddingham, so the future appears to be bright!
Juno Temple told Deadline, “I think it would be amazing to see how they would continue to do wonderful things together and also how that then would bleed out into other women passing that on to other women.” While talking about the series finale, Sudeikis has also previously addressed the topic, saying that he takes the question as “flattery,” which is a great sign which adds some credibility to this rumor which, if it happens, will be confirmed by the network sometime later.
Ted Lasso Season 3: What is the final season about?
In the 12-episode third season of “Ted Lasso,” the newly-promoted AFC Richmond faces ridicule as media predictions widely peg them as last in the Premier League, and Nate (Nick Mohammed), now hailed as the “wonder kid,” has gone to work for Rupert (Anthony Head) at West Ham United.
In the wake of Nate’s contentious departure from Richmond, Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) steps up as assistant coach alongside Beard (Brendan Hunt). Meanwhile, while Ted (Jason Sudeikis) deals with pressures at work, he continues to wrestle with his own personal issues back home, Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) is focused on defeating Rupert, and Keeley (Juno Temple) navigates being the boss of her own PR agency. Things seem to be falling apart both on and off the pitch, but Team Lasso is set to give it their best shot anyway.
“Ted Lasso” stars Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso, an American football coach hired to manage a British soccer team — despite having no experience. But what he lacks in knowledge, he makes up for with optimism, underdog determination … and biscuits. The award-winning Apple Original comedy also stars Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift, Phil Dunster, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, Nick Mohammed, Anthony Head, Toheeb Jimoh, Cristo Fernández, Kola Bokinni, Billy Harris, James Lance, and Juno Temple.
In addition to starring, Sudeikis serves as executive producer alongside Bill Lawrence via his Doozer Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television, a division of NBCUniversal Content. Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, and Bill Wrubel also serve as executive producers, along with Doozer’s Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer. Jane Becker and Jamie Lee also serve as executive producers.
Star Brett Goldstein serves as writer and co-executive producer. The series was developed by Sudeikis, Lawrence, Joe Kelly, and Brendan Hunt and is based on the preexisting format and characters from NBC Sports.
All three seasons of Ted Lasso are available exclusively on Apple TV+ and on the Apple TV app, which offers a selection of membership tiers from which viewers can pick according to their preferences.
