The much-awaited musical festival Coachella is back this year, and fans couldn’t be more excited. The event has returned with energetic performances and full enthusiasm. What shocked and surprised everyone at the same time was the appearance of the popular K-pop girl band 2NE1 at the festival. The fact that they got back together has also left the fans elated.
The beautiful reunion
It so happened that 2NE1 reunited at the Coachella music festival after a span of six years. The group includes four bandmates – Park Bom, CL, Minzy, and Sandara Park. It was a whole lot of years after they ended their group that the four ladies were seen together for the first time. Head In the Clouds from 88risings was lit with memories of the past as the four members of 2NE1 hopped on for a remarkable comeback performance on their popular track I AM THE BEST.

Countless fans from around the world could not contain their giddiness in a celebration of one of the most-loved tracks of the girl band. Soon after, a gust of smoke appears, with the signature silhouettes of the four girls appearing on stage. It is when CL screams and asks the crowd if they are ready for the BEST!
The BEST idea
Reports suggest that it was band member CL’s idea to perform as a full group at the music festival. It was she who invited the rest of the 2NE1 members on stage while she was a part of the Head in the Clouds roster of 88risings.

Ahead of the Coachella music festival, 2NE1’s last performance as a group was at the 2015 MAMA stage.
For the unversed, 2NE1 was formed by YG entertainment and was active between the years 2009 to 2016. The girl group was introduced for the first time in March 2009. Back then, they had appeared for the promotional single titled Lollipop. The group later rose to prominence with some popular singles like I Don’t Care, Fire, I am the Best, Lonely, Ugly, Don’t Cry, etc.
Their New Evolution Global Tour is considered the first world tour by a K-pop band held across eleven cities in seven countries in South America and Asia. This tour of the band happened way back in 2012. 2NE1’s final group album was titled Crush and was released in 2014.
