Another day, another spear of rumors circulating all over social media has once again piqued the interest of Netflix’s subscribers in knowing if the posts that they have come across on the web hold any truth to them or are they just plain false reports being created by some outlets?
If you want to know the answer, then we can assure you that you have reached the right place to know the current status of 365 Days 4. To clarify your query without causing any more confusion, let’s get straight into the subject:
The readers who watched the first three movies don’t need to raise their hopes as these reports are just rumors being spreading all over Facebook and Twitter, among other platforms, and Netflix has not confirmed that a fourth season from the 365 franchise, which is based on the first novel of a trilogy by Blanka Lipińska, is in the works!
If you have been acquainted with this franchise then you’ll know that it’s been around a year since The Next 365 Days landed on Netflix, with second and third parts of the movie franchise dropping throughout 2022 trying to capitalize the success of the first part which quickly gained global attention, becoming one of the most watched items in numerous territories on multiple continents, and having one of the longest periods as the most watched item in Netflix’s history in the United States.
Though, despite its popularity on the streaming patform, the film was universally panned by critics, with criticism aimed at its perceived glorification of the Mafia and heavy use of sex sequences that included sexual violence, drawing comparisons to the Fifty Shades trilogy, and it is considered one of the worst films of all time as Review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes collected 16 reviews and identified 0% of them as positive, with an average rating of 1.9/10. The sequels were also met with unfavorable reviews as various media outlets were also reporting the movies with low scores.
Since then, there has not been any word about the development of a fourth movie but the cast and author have teased of it being a possibility in the future with the lead characters!
The franchise’s leading man Michele Morrone has made it very clear he’d be open to revisiting the character of Massimo Torricelli. He took to Instagram with a very cryptic post that seemed to suggest the same, quote, “The end of something is always a little bit sad.. but.. who knows…,” Morrone also teased fans by hinting that this might not be a goodbye but rather an “until next time” moment. Surprisingly, he’s not teased anything else about a fourth film since that cryptic Instagram post, but fans continue to flock to the post to share their hopes of seeing more from the character.
Furthermore, Blanka Lipinska, the author of 365 Days, has said that she is not prepared to say goodbye to these characters, especially Massimo.
Lipinska revealed to TODAY that she was planning on revisiting the story but this time through the eyes of Massimo directly. She hopes to revisit “the story from the beginning. But this time from the perspective of Massimo.” Given an interest in seeing the tale again from Massimo’s point of view, it’s possible that Netflix and Lipinska are working on a fourth film that may replay the previous film’s events, but this time from Massimo’s point of view. This may be an intriguing strategy for carrying on the property in a way that’s unique to the fans of the books!
To add a cherry on top of this, it’s important to note that Netflix never said the third film was the final one. On the other hand, they did often refer to it as the “next installment,” implying that there could be more to come. We’ll just have to wait and see what the future holds, as right now everything is at a standstill and nothing has been officially confirmed by Netflix or the producers of the movies. In the meantime, if you are interested in streaming these movies, then we recommend that readers check them out exclusively on Netflix, as it is available in various selected regions.
