Marshmallows are considered to be one of the favorite delicacies of children and adults alike. Who knew something so soft and chewy could be the cause of someone’s death? Natalie Buss, a 37-year-old, choked on marshmallows at a Rugby Club Event and lost her life, as per People.

The incident happened when Welsh Rugby Club, Wales, conducted a marshmallow-eating challenge inside Beddau Rugby Football Club (RFC). As per The Times, Buss died while trying to compete in the challenge of trying to fit as many marshmallows in the mouth as possible.

The first responders were the UK emergency services, and police said to People that they had attended the incident in depth. The club also added, “On Saturday night we lost a very dear friend who will be sadly missed. Everybody associated with Beddau RFC and within the community are nothing less than devastated at the weekend’s tragic accident and we struggle to comprehend the sense of loss people are feeling.”

It further added, “This said, we must acknowledge that our loss pales into insignificance in comparison to the loss of a lady who was a wonderful wife, mother and daughter to what was an absolutely tragic turn of events. As a club we send out our sincerest, heartfelt condolences to all the family, the close friends and to all those that this has so badly impacted – you are all in our thoughts today.”
