Needless to say, drinking water is very important for our bodies. It’s a known fact that we are 70% water and loss of water can result in serious illnesses. It’s imperative to note that water is crucial to maintaining proper bodily functions.
Drinking at least 8 glasses of water every day is the key to a healthy being. While most of us know that, only a handful would actually follow it. So, if you, too, are wondering whether you are fulfilling the daily water intake, here are some signs that indicate that it’s time to hydrate.
1. Feeling of thirst
Well, this is one of the most common signs that tell you clearly that you are not drinking enough water. If you have a constant feeling of thirst and you are not able to easily get over it then there are chances you are not keeping yourself hydrated enough. So, whenever you feel thirsty, or feel like your throat and mouth are drying up, do not hesitate and go drink a glass, or two, of water.
2. Dry skin
Water is the best hydration therapy that you can give to your body and skin. If you keep yourself well-hydrated it would surely be visible in your glow and if you don’t then that would, too. If your skin is always dry even after applying lotion and other moisturizing products daily, it may be a sign that your body is not getting enough water.
3. Constant hunger pangs
Food is not the only thing that can make you feel full and it is true that without proper water intake, your body will experience trouble producing energy. This will make you feel hungry even after eating. If this is happening to you then it might be a sign that you are dehydrated.
4. Digestive problems
We all, at some level, are aware of the problem that can be caused to our digestive system without proper and sufficient intake of water. Other than roughage, water is also a major contributor to the proper bowel movement in our body. Not drinking enough water will lead to constipation as less water means poor bowel movements.
5. Nausea and dizziness
Water plays an important role when it comes to your brain health as well. If you are dehydrated the amount of fluid in your blood vessels will drop dramatically resulting in a drop in your blood pressure which leads to less oxygen supply to your brain, resulting in dizziness and sometimes nausea. So, no matter what else you do you should never mess with your water intake if you want to live a healthy life with no big problems.
6. Low-energy
Do you feel lazy and lethargic the whole day? Do you not have the energy to get up and hence you constantly choose laziness over everything? If yes, then there is a lot of chance that your water intake is not sufficient for you. This is because your body is still trying to function in the same way but without the proper water supply. So, if you feel sluggish even after a good night’s sleep then you need to check your water intake.
