Gabriel has been shot dead. Robert succumbed to Huntington’s.
Two tragedies during the #Tarlos wedding. Is this an omen?
Getting through 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 finale put us in a tough spot. Untimely deaths, murders, disease-ridden bodies, heartbreaks, and all of this while were trying to sit back and enjoy TK and Carlos’ wedding. The 126 crew could not catch a break!
However, it left us wondering: Will there be a Season 5? If so, when will it release? Will the current strike situation cause delays?
Well, it is true! FOX has officially renewed Season 5 of 9-1-1: Lone Star, whereas the mother series 9-1-1 has left the chat! No literally… It was transferred to the ABC network, so for anyone hoping for those stellar crossovers, we apologize for bursting your bubble.
But if FOX renewed 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5, is there any chance it will reach us in August?
We have all the details related to this, so continue reading.
9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 Release Date
As of writing this piece, the official network has not confirmed a release date. However, before we jump to a conclusion we must take two things into account. The first is that the 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 finale just aired on May 16th, 2023, and the series was given a renewal for Season 5 on May 1st, 2023, which makes it too soon to speculate a release date for the same. Check out the Season 5 renewal post below.

Second, the WGA strike began in May 2023, the very month that FOX announced the season renewal. The writers might have just dipped their pen in ink, and before they could etch a word on paper, the strike must have broken out.
Currently, we are in the third month of the strike. We are entering August.
There are no scripts ready. Ideally, for a fall release, or an early winter release, the window of production remains from May to September. This is impossible for 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 since the scripts are also not ready!
Hence, provided the strike comes to an end by October, we can predict 9-1-1: Lone Start Season 5 to grace our screens by mid-2024 (preferably a summer release).
This is keeping in tune with the ending of the strike, script writing, production, and post-production time. Sigh, I know we have put you in a somber mood.
Let’s lighten up and dive into the expectations from 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5, now that we know it is happening.
9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5: Expected Plot
While the Season 4 finale left us in the throes of inexplicable cliffhangers, we can expect the next season to pick up from there. The synopsis for the finale episode titled “Best of Men”/”In Sickness and In Health” reads:
“Owen is conflicted when his brother Robert (guest star Chad Lowe) asks him for help; Judd and Grace face a family crisis; As T.K. and Carlos prepare for their wedding day, tragedy strikes.”
Gabriel’s Death
As you can see the word ‘tragedy’ written, you can guess the major cliffhangers that were thrown at us. At first, Gabriel (Carlos’ father) was shot at his doorstep. We can only imagine what he must be going through. TK will need to be firmly on his side now more than ever. In a conversation with TV Insider, Rafael Silva (who plays Carlos) said,
“I think that Carlos is not the same since his father’s murder and will do whatever it takes to get an answer, some answer, any sort of answer, and he will take the path necessary to [do so].”
We will have to wait and see if Carlos catches the killer. Or does he find himself at a dead end?
Robert’s Death
Additionally, in the same conversation, Ronen Rubenstein(who plays TK) spoke about Owen and how he will have to cope with his half-brother Robert’s death,
“It’ll be really interesting to see what that does to Owen because he’s gone through a lot.”
Will he give in grief? Or will he strengthen himself from within and throw himself into work?
Future of the Newlyweds
Another plot that will evolve is the life of the newlyweds Carlos and TK. In a conversation with TV Insider, when asked about the possibility of kids, Silva said,
“I’m not sure if there’s a rush [when it comes to making a decision about that] necessarily because things are going to happen to these characters.” For now, there’s a question of what we’ll see from Tarlos as newlyweds. Will they stay in that apartment? “There is this family being constructed and coming into play. They need to figure out who they are married, too. Do things change? Do they not change? What does that look like?” to which Rubenstein chided in, “Sometimes they do [change].”
Guess we will see how things take a turn when Season 5 arrives.
Does Judd Return to 126?
This needs some affirmation or speculation since Season 4 showed Judd (played by Jim Parrack) taking a break from 126 to look after his paralyzed son Wyatt (played by Jackson Pace). However, by the end of the season, we witness Wyatt making some improvement, so there is a fair chance of Judd returning to 126 once again!
A Tommy-Trevor Wedding?
We did get a slight tease at the finale episode during TK and Carlos’ wedding when Trevor asked Tommy if she could see herself getting married. She replied, saying if it was six months later, she might have said no. This leaves wiggle room for a proposal and a marriage montage between the two. Fans are pumped to see them together!
With this being said, if there are any updates regarding possible plotlines, we will update you here!
9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 Cast
