Will the Lone Star gang be back for another season? Here is everything we know so far about 9-1-1: Lone Star.
As fans eagerly wait for news on whether 9-1-1: Lone Star will be renewed for Season 5, we would like to clear the air to avoid any more confusion. We are sad to report this, but Fox has yet to confirm the show’s future. It has been one of the most frequently asked questions constantly raised by the fans on social media, especially since the fourth season is soon nearing its end.
On the other hand, there is no doubt that the show has been a hit amongst fans and critics alike since its debut, leading many to believe that a renewal was inevitable. The recent episodes of the series are filled with explosive plotlines, leaving fans on major cliffhangers in each episode which makes the likeness of the show continue for more seasons, and speculate regarding a renewal.
Despite the lack of official renewal news, there are reasons to remain optimistic about the show’s future. If you recall, in an interview with Deadline, Kevin Reilly, the Chief Content Officer for HBO Max, Peacock, and the TBS/TNT/TruTV group of networks, expressed his admiration for 9-1-1: Lone Star, stating that Fox’s decision to air the show alongside their other highly successful 9-1-1 franchise had paid off in terms of audience numbers.
Furthermore, the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, has expressed interest in continuing the show. In a recent interview, Murphy revealed that he had already discussed the possibility of the show’s renewal with Fox’s executives and had already started working on ideas for the new season. So, if 9-1-1: Lone Star does get renewed, fans can expect more of the show’s signature gripping storylines and compelling characters with a dangerous threat looming over the characters.
The loyal fans are eagerly waiting for renewal which can also help to address the many loose ends left in the series!
That’s not all! The renewal update among the fandom has been anticipated for a while now as they have been keeping up with the show’s excellent ratings and strong reception around the world, which is generally a positive sign for any major television network like the Fox network to duly consider and sign off on a fifth season. Hence, as we wait for the announcement, we urge the fans to stream the prior episodes of the fourth season before its finale airs in the coming weeks.
For your consideration, if the fifth season is renewed after the season finale episode airs on the Fox network, then we can guess that it is most likely speculated to premiere next year with the same January 2024 release window. It will have the same year gap, which will help the crew start the production on a timely schedule without causing any unnecessary delays. Of course, this is just guesswork, and the details will be confirmed once the joint negotiation between the networks is approved.
Moreover, the cast members expected to return for a fifth season include Rob Lowe as Owen Strand, Ronen Rubinstein as TK Strand, Sierra McClain as Grace Ryder, Jim Parrack as Judd Ryder, Natacha Karam as Marjan Marwani, Brian Michael Smith as Paul Strickland, Rafael Silva as Carlos Reyes, Julian Works as Mateo Chavez, Gina Torres as Tommy Vega, Brianna Baker as Nancy Gillian, Kelsey Yates as Isabella Vega, and Skyler Yates as Evie Vega.
9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4: When will the new episodes air?
Set in Texas, 9-1-1: Lone Star stars Lowe as a sophisticated New York firefighter who, along with his son, relocates to Austin. There, he must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in his own life.
The official synopsis of the season, states, “Owen, Tommy, and the rest of the 126 are being called into action to a county fair when a ‘derecho,’ a series of a fast-moving group of severe thunderstorms, hit Austin, causing hurricane and tornado-force winds, heavy rains, flash floods and a wide path of destruction. And just when they think it couldn’t get worse, an even rare weather phenomenon, a ‘heat burst,’ causing temperatures to go up to 122 degrees Fahrenheit, hits the city.”
