Yes, you heard it right! The American crime drama television series will continue. Here is everything we know so far about
Accused Season 2.
Are you excited to see what happens next in this drama television series developed by Howard Gordon that is based on the 2010 British series of the same name? Then you have reached the right place, as we have compiled all the necessary details about the recently renewed second season, which has been greenlit earlier than expected as the final episode of the first season is reportedly scheduled to air on April 4, 2023.
The renewals come after Fox renewed The Cleaning Lady for a third season with more renewals and cancellations expected over the next few weeks and months. So, it is not a shock that the network renewed the show for another season.
As the overall reception has been fairly good for a new show! The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported a 60% approval rating with an average rating of 7.3/10, based on 15 critic reviews. The website’s critics’ consensus reads, “While Accused is yet another variation on a very familiar theme, its anthology structure offers enough flexibility and star power for some compelling courtroom stories.”
Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned a score of 60 out of 100 based on 12 critics, indicating “mixed or average reviews.” Moreover, the premiere episode had more than 11.3 million viewers and a 2.3 rating among the 18-49 demographic in the three days after its premiere on multi-platforms. It is the highest-rated and most-watched debut on Fox in 3 years.
After all this good news, we would also like to highlight that the prospective premiere date for the second season has yet to be acknowledged! But, many reports suggest that Accused Season 2 will return for the 2023-24 season on the Fox network at the same time slot of 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT. We would like to highlight that this will happen only if the production starts on a proper schedule sometime this year. Of course, at this point in time, this is just speculation!
Until there is any formal confirmation, we would suggest that the fans keep a close eye on the social media handles of the network to learn about any new updates and developments. Take a look at the official renewal announcement along with Alert Season 2 renewal was shared on the official Twitter handle of Drama Club FOX, quoting, “This is BIG! #AccusedOnFOX and #AlertOnFOX have both been renewed for Season 2.”

Accused Season 2: What to expect in the new season?
Though the first season hasn’t completed its entire run yet, it is expected to conclude with its finale episode, which is scheduled to air next month on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. This makes predicting future plotlines, such as whether the show will continue its story with a potential cliffhanger or even explore the dynamics of the show’s theme by interconnecting some stories, far too early.
If you haven’t been able to watch the show yet, we’ve provided a synopsis of the first season for you, which will undoubtedly persuade you to do so right away. This show is a crime anthology series where viewers are taken on the journey of the defendant. Each episode opens in a courtroom on the accused, with viewers knowing nothing about their crime or how they ended up on trial. Told from the defendant’s point of view through flashbacks.
“Accused” holds a mirror up to the current times with evocative and emotional stories. Viewers discover how an ordinary person gets caught up in an extraordinary situation, ultimately revealing how one wrong turn leads to another until it’s too late to turn back. In the end, audiences will discover how an ordinary person gets caught up in extraordinary circumstances, and how one impulsive decision can impact the course of that life – and the lives of others – forever.
Developed by Howard Gordon and executive-produced by Gordon, Alex Gansa, and David Shore. The show features cinematic auspices and production values anchored by Oscar and Emmy-winning talent, including Michael Chiklis, Abigail Breslin, Whitney Cummings, Margo Martindale, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Wendell Pierce, Rachel Bilson, Jack Davenport, Molly Parker, directors Billy Porter, Marlee Matlin, Tazbah Chavez, and Michael Chiklis. Co-produced by FOX Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television.
