The most valuable Victoria’s Secret Angel has clapped back at the social media users who have taken it upon themselves to leave negative comments about the supermodel’s “Unrecognizable Face” while attending the Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes premiere in Los Angeles, California, on Tuesday. Despite being one of the most beautiful faces, which has made her an iconic figure in the fashion industry, Lima, 42, has been targeted by hurtful remarks on the web.
With all the buzz surrounding her fuller face, this resilient angel has proven that she won’t let the ongoing negativity define her as she fearlessly claps back against all the criticism. On Wednesday, Lima took to her Instagram Stories to counter all the ongoing reactions by posting a makeup-free photo in response to these criticisms of her most recent post-baby appearance. Lima and her boyfriend, Andre Lemmers, 42, welcomed their first child together, son Cyan Lima, in August 2022.
This move serves as a powerful reminder of her strength in the face of adversity. The Brazilian model cleared up the rumors surrounding all the suggestions that she had recently undergone cosmetic procedures. She captioned the story by simply sharing a makeup-free photo of herself, writing, “The face of a tired mom of one teenage girl, two preteens, a 1-year-old learning to walk, and three dogs.” She further added, “Thanks for your concern.” Take a look at the post below:
Her appearance made people question the noticeable changes to her face over just the past month, especially on X (formerly known as Twitter), where people are still debating about her face.
“Omg, not Adriana Lima!!!!! she was one my fav vs model,” one social media user wrote on X while others speculated that the Brazilian model, might be ‘still swollen’ from cosmetic procedures. Another user even came to her defense, writing, “People are assholes for shitting on adriana lima’s looks now and constantly comparing her to herself back in the 2000. mind you this woman is in her 40s and gave birth to THREE children, give her a break.”
For the Hunger Games premiere, Lima attended the red carpet with her boyfriend, Andre Lemmers, and her daughters, Sienna, 11, and Valentina, 14, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Serbian basketball player Marko Jarić. They were also joined at the event by Lemmers’ two children, Miah and Lupo. In addition to this, the model also opened up to PEOPLE earlier this year about how she was choosing to embrace her postpartum body, which got her honest praise from the fans.
“Every day I have to remind myself, ‘Listen, accept who you are. Accept your body,'” she said at a Victoria’s Secret event in April.
“It’s a transitional body right now because I had a baby. So you just created life. It’s such a big blessing. Everybody has a different reaction with pregnancy and post-pregnancy,” she continued. Lima also stated at the time, she is trying to focus on keeping a regular fitness routine and practicing acceptance of her body’s changes. “And I struggle every day,” she admitted. “Every day, I have to remind myself, I’m human. I get insecure here and there.”
“And then every day, I learn new things. And with age, your body reacts differently,” she added. “But it’s okay. I’m learning.”
Most recently, Lima was named by FIFA as a Global Fan Ambassador for that year’s Women’s World Cup, with the aim of “developing, promoting and participating in global initiatives.” Lima executive produced and appeared in the short documentary film FIFA: A Love Letter To Rwanda, which was directed by Craig Goodwill and follows the March 2023 FIFA congress in Kigali, Rwanda, and had its world premiere at the Taormina Film Festival on June 28, 2023.
