Recently The L1VE announced that Make Your Mind singer Ailee will be parting ways from the agency.
The L1VE is founded by VIXX member Ravi. Ailee joined the label just last year. The agency confirmed that after Ailee’s contract ended, she won’t be renewing it and leaving the company. The official statement read:
“Hello, this is THE L1VE label.
Thank you to the fans who have always loved and supported artist Ailee.
The exclusive contract between THE L1VE and Ailee will expire at the end of July 2022.
We want to thank Ailee, who has always given her best energy on stage, for being with THE L1VE label from July 2021 until now. Although we are no longer working together, THE L1VE label will wholeheartedly support Ailee’s new start and the diverse images she will continue to showcase in the future.
Thank you.”
Ailee personally also addressed the matter and informed her fans about exiting The L1VE in an Instagram post that read, “Due to the expiration of my exclusive contract with THE L1VE, I have wound up transferring agencies. I wanted to tell my fans, who always give me their love and support, before anyone else.”
“I will work hard to become an even more mature and cool Ailee at my new agency Pop Music. I sincerely thank my Aileeans [Ailee’s fandom] for always waiting for me and believing in me, and I love you,” she added.
After the announcement of Ailee’s departure from The L1VE fans were suspecting that there was any bad blood between the artist and Ravi. Well Ravi quickly shut down the baseless rumors
On July 31, Pop Music, a subsidiary of WYSIWYG Studios, announced that Ailee had signed an exclusive contract with the agency recently.
Born in Denver, Colorado, Ailee was raised in New Jersey. Ailee was signed by the independent agency Muzo Entertainment in New York City and New Jersey prior to her K-pop debut. She worked with a variety of musicians under that label, including Johnnyphlo and the rapper Decipher from Philadelphia. Ailee created the YouTube channels mzamyx3 and aileemusic before relocating to South Korea in order to promote her singing online.
Ailee made her musical debut in 2012 with the release of her first single, Heaven. The song and its follow-up debut EP, Invitation, won Ailee the Best New Artist Awards at the Melon Music Awards, Golden Disc Awards, and Seoul Music Awards that year. It also won her the Gaon Chart Music Awards’ New Female Solo Artist Award.
Ailee has also received the Mnet Asian Music Award for Best Female Vocal Performance for four years from 2013 to 2017 for the songs U&I, Singing Got Better, Mind Your Own Business, and If You respectively.
We wish Ailee all the very best as she embarks on her new journey.
