Alec Baldwin put his fans’ minds at ease after a car accident in the Hamptons on Monday. The 67-year-old actor shared details of the crash in an Instagram video, explaining that he was driving his wife Hilaria Baldwin’s white Range Rover when the incident happened.

Baldwin was accompanied by his brother Stephen, who was visiting for the weekend. The siblings had been attending the Hamptons International Film Festival, where Alec serves as co-chair on the Board Executive Committee.

In the video, Alec recounted how a massive garbage truck suddenly cut him off on the road, forcing him to swerve sharply to avoid a collision.

“My brother Stephen was visiting me. And we spent the weekend out there for the film festival,” Alec said.

He described the truck as enormous—“the size of a whale” — and said that to dodge it, he ended up crashing into a tree.

“This morning I was in a car accident, this guy cut me off,” he said. “A big garbage truck … a garbage truck the size of a whale … it was the biggest garbage truck I’d ever seen … to avoid hitting him, I hit a tree. I hit a big fat tree and crushed my wife’s car.”

While he expressed regret over damaging Hilaria’s vehicle, Alec was quick to reassure fans that everyone was okay.

“I crushed my wife’s car and I feel bad about that,” he admitted. “But it’s all fine and I’m fine and my brother’s fine.”

The crash caused visible damage to the Range Rover, including a cracked hood from the impact with the tree. Photos from the scene showed Alec speaking with a police officer, with the large blue garbage truck still parked nearby.

A source told Page Six that Alec had been in the area for the Hamptons International Film Festival, which began on October 5 and wrapped up on Sunday, October 13. The actor has been actively involved throughout the week, attending screenings and moderating panel discussions.

In addition to his Hamptons commitments, Alec made a brief detour on Saturday to attend the Buffalo Film Festival. He shared footage of himself dining in Buffalo, New York, giving fans a glimpse of his travels beyond the festival circuit.

In the video message, Alec also took a moment to express his admiration and love for his wife, Hilaria, who recently participated in Dancing With the Stars.

“I’m still so proud of my wife,” he said.

“Hilaria I love you more than anything and I’m very proud of you,” he added.

Despite the shock of the crash and the damage to the vehicle, Alec Baldwin’s tone was lighthearted and positive as he assured followers that no one was hurt. The actor plans to return home to Los Angeles after his time on the East Coast.

Fans can rest easy knowing that Baldwin and his brother walked away from the accident unscathed, even if the Range Rover won’t be quite the same anytime soon.
