All American Season 6 Expected Release Date: Will it premiere in October 2023 or not?

Even before the fifth season premiered its final episode, Now That We’ve Found Love,” earlier this year, the network was quick to approve the series for another season on January 11, 2023. The renewal announcement excited the fandom, and it seems like the network has always planned to secure the series for another season. The show creators have already brainstormed plans to progress the storyline further for another year, which is not surprising as the show has consistently performed well in terms of ratings and viewership.

Due to this, many fans are excited to know if the series will be part of the upcoming 2023–24 fall broadcast schedule or not. If you are wondering the same, then we can assure the readers that, unfortunately, the network has put a hold on the official release of all the scripted shows for the remainder of this year, even if the scripts were partially completed, which sadly will include All American Season 6.” We say this with a bit of certainty because all the other competitor networks have also revised their schedules, and all major series are now set to release sometime around the early to mid-2024 broadcast season on The CW network.

All American Season 6 is not coming in September 2023

This major change has happened due to the ongoing 2023 Writers Guild of America strike and the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, which have stopped the working of Hollywood until a proper resolution regarding the compensation of the writers and actors is made for the work to effectively resume and the production to conclude on time without causing any further hurdles or delays in the release. So, if we look at this current status, one thing is clear: All American Season 6 is not going to premiere in October 2023, let alone in the remaining months of this year.

Moreover, there is no chance for the production to commence even by late 2023, which will lead to further delays in post-production, eventually forcing the creators to modify the release window by confirming it to premiere sometime around January 2024 at the earliest! In conclusion, the longer the writers and actors stay on strike, the longer this hiatus is going to be, and the chances of the series making its comeback anytime soon will remain completely off the table! The CW will be filling the schedule with scripted shows but not American content.

To cover the gap, it is obtaining material from Canada, the UK, and other countries to ensure that the viewers get something to watch during the absence of these popular series. Right now, we suggest that the viewers be patient and follow all the social media platforms to be updated with the latest information on the potential release date, which might be announced in the near future! Moreover, the renewal was also confirmed by the official Twitter handle of the show among their followers with a brand new poster of the sensational cast members, quoting, “Manifested a season 6.”

Take a look at the renewal announcement as shared on the official All American Twitter handle below:

What to expect from the new season?

We all know that this series is inspired by the life of professional American football player Spencer Paysinger. So, the new season is expected to continue the plot from the fifth season, which showcases Laura throwing Billy a surprise birthday party. Everyone comes together to roast Billy, but Billy has a looming decision hanging over his head. Spencer makes an effort to do what’s best for himself, hoping it helps Olivia, and he takes a step towards moving on. Jayme offers some sage advice to Asher about his speech with JJ, but she ignores her own about watching out for red flags.

Meanwhile, Jordan and Layla get into their first fight over something neither of them could have predicted. The next season is also expected to pick up the plotlines from the jaw-dropping season finale of the fifth season, which was directed by David McWhirter and written by Mike Herro & David Strauss. In the episode, the viewers get to see that dramatic changes are on the horizon for the whole gang; the road forward is destined to be influenced by the past.

All American Season 6 is not coming in September 2023

“Over the last five seasons, All American has established itself as one of the all-time CW flagship franchises,” said Schwartz. “All American is not only the network’s youngest series but also the strongest performer when combining all our platforms. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, the entire creative team, and the incredible cast for another season of captivating family drama.”

Even though not much has been revealed about the exact plotlines in order to avoid early spoilers, we are certain that the new season will put Spencer James to the test to navigate the challenges of being a rising star in both Beverly Hills and Crenshaw. This season seems to be promising to explore deeper themes of identity, loyalty, and the power of resilience! We’ll just have to wait and see how the events unfold at Beverly Hills High as the wins, losses, and struggles of two families from vastly different worlds will once again collide!

All American Season 6 Cast: Who will reprise their roles?

Even though it has not been confirmed, the cast members who are expected to reprise their roles for the upcoming season are as follows: Daniel Ezra as Spencer James, Bre-Z as Tamia “Coop” Cooper, Greta Onieogou as Layla Keating, Samantha Logan as Olivia Baker, Michael Evans Behling as Jordan Baker, Cody Christian as Asher Adams, Karimah Westbrook as Grace James, Monet Mazur as Laura Baker, Jalyn Hall as Dillon James, Chelsea Tavares as Patience Robinson, Hunter Clowdus as JJ Parker and Taye Diggs as Coach Billy Baker.

There can be some new additions and removal from the cast, with unexpected surprises awaiting as new faces might join the ensemble while familiar ones bid farewell. We’ll just have to wait for this confirmation. On the other hand, the series is executive produced by April Blair, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Rob Hardy, Nkechi Okoro Carroll, John A. Norris, and Jameal Turner. The producers of the show are Robbie Rogers, Robert D. Doty, Jon Wallace, Carl Ogawa, and Jennifer Lence.

All American Season 6 Official Episode Count: Where to stream?

When this beloved sports drama was renewed, it was anticipated to include at least 22 episodes, and it is meant to be consistent with its predecessor. But, due to the ongoing strikes, which included SAG-AFTRA, otherwise known as the Screen Actors Guild, and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, joining the WGA or the Writers Guild of America (which has been resolved on September 27, 2023). The official episode count may vary, which may have prompted the makers of the show to slash the number of episodes by creating a shorter season with 15 to 18 episodes so that the season may air on the allotted schedule.

We would also like to highlight that the filming has been put on hold because of the ongoing strikes. Due to this, the chances of releasing any new details about the episodes are minimal in order to avoid spoilers. So, we would advise fans to be patient while waiting for these updates, which will be issued in the coming days, and binge-watch the recently released fifth season to recall the events that have happened so far.

After the worldwide television premiere of the series, viewers can catch up with the new episodes for free only on The CW app and website, based on their location. For international viewers, All American is available to stream on FuboTV. The series is also available to stream along with its sister series, “All American: Homecoming,” on Netflix in the U.S. However, it is also available to rent or buy on Amazon Instant Video, iTunes, Google Play, and Vudu, with a vast number of membership plans. Interested viewers can also enable notifications for streaming services to get updates.

All American Season 6 Official Trailer: Has it been released?

As stated above, the network hasn’t released any new promos for the sixth season as filming hasn’t yet commenced, leaving a lot of time for the official marketing to begin, which usually begins a month or two before the premiere. Until then, we’ll just have to wait and see what the next few months have in store for us in relation to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, as the Writers Guild’s strike officially ended at 12:01 a.m. PT on Wednesday.

Due to this, everything concerning the filming status is still neither here nor there! As a result, we are certain that no new promos will be released anytime soon.

In the meantime, check out the official trailer for All American Season 5, which showcases: “When a rising high school football player from South L.A. is recruited to play for Beverly Hills High, the wins, losses, and struggles of two families from vastly different worlds — Crenshaw and Beverly Hills —begin to collide. Inspired by the life of pro football player Spencer Paysinger.” Take a look at the official trailer below:
