Angelina Jolie and her ex Brad Pitt’s ongoing battle over her right to sell her share of the much-debated French winery and estate the couple co-owned seems to be getting messier with time. For the unversed, Pitt’s team accused his ex Angelina of purposefully trying to inflict harm by selling her part of the shares. In return, the actress’ legal team responded to the allegations as per the latest court documents.

The lawsuit

According to the latest report by Just Jared through Radar Online, Angelina Jolie‘s latest documents have called out the lawsuit as “frivolous, malicious, and part of a problematic pattern” on her ex Brad Pitt’s part. The report further states that the document also says, “Pitt‘s allegations that he and Ms. Jolie had a secret, unwritten, unspoken contract to a consent right on the sale of their interests in the property is directly contrary to the written record and, among other legal defects, violative of the Statute of Frauds and public policy.”

The earlier email

Earlier, an email sent by the actress to her ex-husband leaked online through TikTok. According to the latest reports, the email was a part of the court documents sent by Jolie to Pitt in January 2021. The lengthy email begins with the actress saying she is putting it in writing so as not to get emotional about the matter. She then goes on to talk about the decision to sell the Chateau Miraval Winery that she co-owns with Brad Pitt.

The email details

The actress starts the email by saying, “It is the place we brought the twins home to, and where we were married over a plaque in my mother’s memory” stating that the place held the promise of what could be and added that she wanted to grow old in the same. She further wrote, “Even now impossible to write this without crying. I will treasure my memories of what it was a decade ago.”

The entire account

The actress also went on to blame the winery business for the end of her family and marriage and stated, “But it is also the place that marks the beginning of the end of our family – and a business that is centered around alcohol.” Angelina Jolie also referred to ex-husband Brad Pitt’s struggle with alcohol and added that it would have been something that could help the couple. She said, “I see now how you have really wanted me out and will most likely be pleased to receive this email.”

She recalled how she was shaken by the imagery of selling alcohol and said, “It reminded me of painful times.” Jolie also made it clear that she could not be involved in a business based on alcohol when it harmed her family so deeply.
