K-pop singer and BLACKPINK member Lisa’s supporters across the world have become furious over the popular music platform Spotify’s blunder. Not only that but they also demanded from the platform to make an official apology to the Korean diva. For the same purpose, the fans have started a trend on Twitter titled ‘Apologize to Lisa’ globally as the K-pop star faced a lot of vile, misogynist, and abusive comments on the Internet because of the company’s unnecessary blunder.
(1/2) Every year, we endeavor to accurately reflect consumption around the world. In reference to our Top K-Pop Artists of 2022 playlist, multiple genre tags led to slightly different top ten lists, and they were not properly merged. This mistake has been corrected.

Your mistake caused LISA to be a subject of ridicule and women objectification and your silence gives consent to cyberbullies and slutshamers to further continue their heinous acts!

As the CEO of @Spotify, I hope you live up to your mission to give fans the opportunity to enjoy & be inspired by music and their fave artist. But LISA is now being slutshamed because of your “error” and this is not at all in line with your purpose. @eldsjal

Spotify’s unexpected blunder
Spotify recently tagged BTS member Jungkook as the Most Streamed K-Pop Soloist of 2022. There was no denying that most fans accepted it graciously, considering JK did drop a few record-shattering projects in the same year. This includes the latest FIFA World Cup song, Dreamers. But, the music platform backtracked on its own words, later tagging Lisa as the recipient of the same title. The streaming giant is said to have not merged their tags properly, which resulted in such a blunder. As a result of the same, the rapper was harassed online for bagging the coveted title.
Lisa’s supporters demand an apology
Soon ‘Apologize to Lisa’ began trending on Twitter with the K-Pop star’s supporters demanding a formal apology from Spotify. Hence, according to them, the company must make a formal apology.
Lisa’s details
Talking about Lisa, she is a Thai artist, and her original name is Lalisa Manoban. She has inspired millions of fans around the world with her rapping, singing, and dancing. Did you know that she also made her solo debut in September 2021? Her album was titled Lalisa and sold 736,000 in South Korea, which is a record in itself. It also became the most viewed video on YouTube in 24 hours. That, again, is a record that Lisa made as a solo Korean artist.
Lisa’s records
There is no denying that Lisa is the perfect balance between impact and popularity because every time the diva uploads a photo, makes a cover, or releases music, it goes viral on social media instantly. Just a few weeks ago, BLACKPINK released their much-awaited album BORN PINK, and all the songs were successful, most of which also ranked in the top 25 of the Global Spotify charts. Among the tracks is Happiest Girl, a song that includes melodious chord progression and soulful piano performance. It is Lisa’s soulful voice in the same song that has won her accolades and caught everyone’s attention.
