Shantaram Production Status
The series started filming in Australia in October 2019, then moved to India in November 2019. A large section of the movie will likely be shot in Bhopal and other sites in Madhya Pradesh around that time. Due to the Indian monsoon season, which lasts from June to October, the shooting of the series was put on hold in February 2020.
Additional reasons included Singer’s exit from the project, which caused a backlog in writing, and COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. In May 2021, production picked back up in Melbourne, Australia, but more filming was shifted to Thailand as COVID-19 outbreaks in India grew worse. Melbourne will once again host the production in August 2021. In mid-December 2021, all principal photography will be finished.
