Rihanna’s Navy might soon be getting a new album after waiting since her last Grammy-nominated album, ‘Anti,’ was released back in 2016!
After fans got a chance to meet and greet A$AP Rocky in Paris on a pleasant Friday evening, they were able to ask the Grammy-nominated rapper, 35, to shed some light on the status of her beau’s highly anticipated ninth studio album, which has been teased for many years by the “Work,” singer, herself as it has yet to receive an official release date or confirmed title.
In the newly surfaced fan-recorded clip shared on X (Fka Twitter), after being encouraged by the fans to talk about Rihanna’s next album, Rocky responded with a brief update, which has left Navy excited once again. “She’s working on it,” he said with a smile while clarifying that the Fenty Beauty founder and mother of their two children, also 35, hasn’t ruled out the possibility of working on a new album.
The clip has gone pretty viral as his response has been received with several cheers from the fans on the street, as they cheered him with, “we love you, A$AP!” On the other hand, one X user commented, “Bring us that album asap!” A second one joked by commenting, “She’s been working on it for 81 years.” In the same post, a third fan simply asked, “R9 IS COMING?”

Though word of mouth is helping to once again create the buzz surrounding the next project, Rihanna herself has not confirmed any progress about the album for which sadly fans will have to wait for some time as the last update she gave was back in December. During a red carpet conversation with Highsnobiety, Rihanna was asked if music was “perhaps” among her plans for 2024. “I mean, I can’t tell you everything, girl,” Rihanna said, joking, “It’s giving crystal ball.”
On the bright side, producer James Fauntleroy also chimed in the conversation by confirming to PEOPLE that he had been working on new material for his longtime collaborator. The pair previously began working together with Rihanna’s 2009 LP ‘Rated R,’ quote, “I’ve known her for so long, and the last session I did for her was last week.”
He further added at the time, “So I’ve known her for so long, and I think the biggest lesson I learned, whether I knew or not, was just confirmed by her ascent from pop starlet to literal billionaire is the value of taste.”
Most recently, the closest to hearing any new music from Riri was when she earned a nomination for the Golden Globe and Academy Awards for Best Original Song for the lead single from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, “Lift Me Up,” released on October 28, 2022.
It became her first solo musical release since Anti, as the single also won major awards and worldwide recognition. Lastly, her fans speculate that 2024 is definitely the year for Rihanna to officially return to the musical scene as back in October 2023, ET learned the GRAMMY winner is planning a world tour for 2024/2025 after striking a deal with Live Nation and has plans to release new music. Though no major details about this deal have not been disclosed publicly her fans are hopeful for the best.
