A baby is a blessing in disguise, and bringing them into the world is a miracle. When their purpose does not serve selfish parents, they tend to abandon them. Some of them die from the exposure after being born, but a few make it into a warm, welcoming family.
People reported a piece of delightful news via Florida authorities that a couple has adopted an abandoned baby girl who was found in the woods of Florida after 10 months. The police shared an update on Wednesday: “We have an exciting update to share with you.”
According to People, the agency that shared the adoption news said that The newborn baby, who weighed 6.5 lbs. at birth, was found in Mulberry on Jan. 28 just before 2 a.m. local time by deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Additionally, the baby girl was found in the Regal Loop Mobile Home Park, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said days after the discovery.
According to the authorities who discovered the baby, they determined that she was found about an hour after she was born and had been wrapped in a blanket that was still attached to the placenta. The authorities also alerted that temperatures that morning were in the 50s.
According to ABC affiliate WFTS, reported via People, a previous report said that Magdalena Gregorio Ordonez and her 12-year-old daughter, Eulalia Gregorio, found the baby girl just outside their home after hearing cries, only to find out that she was found lying in a thick bush on the ground. Eulalia stated to the authorities, “I was really surprised that they left a poor little girl on the [ground].”
Thereafter, the baby was taken to the local hospital, where she was declared healthy with stable vitals. Per the department, Florida’s Safe Haven laws allow parents to leave unharmed newborns less than a week old at any Safe Haven facility. Judd had said at the time, “We will hold her accountable because she left this child abandoned in the woods, ostensibly, to die.” People report via the Sheriff’s office’s statement that despite extensive efforts to find the mother, she was never found.
According to People, the department shared that after 10 months and 1 day, the baby has been adopted. The sheriff’s office said on Facebook, “We are thrilled to share with you these photos from this morning of this precious angel with her new mom and dad, along with PCSO’s Detective Green and Sgt. Ryan,” adding, “Mom & Dad wish to keep their names from being published, but they allowed us to share these photos with everyone who followed this child’s story and prayed for her well-being.”
