Barry plants the Chechens’ bomb in Cristobal’s home with the intention of killing Fernando and his crew, but his remote detonator app fails. When Cristobal returns to the house, Fernando confronts him, having discovered his relationship with Hank.
Cristobal refuses to cooperate and flees as Barry’s phone connects and the device detonates, injuring Cristobal. Cristobal is returned to Barry, who pays him. Later in the episode, we see that Gene plans to escape LA with Leo and his grandchild, but his agent informs him that his image has greatly enhanced since his mentorship of Barry was made public.
Katie advises Sally that her relationship with Barry is unhealthy after Joplin’s premiere, which Barry misses due to his employment with Hank. Barry pays Gene a visit and promises to remain out of his life in exchange for the money he received from Hank. Barry then goes outside the premiere to see Sally, and she breaks up with him. A gun is purchased by the widow and her son in order to assassinate Barry.
