The Last of Us (2023-present)
An American post-apocalyptic television drama series, The Last of Us has been developed by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann for HBO. The first and second episodes of the series dropped on January 15 and January 22, 2023, respectively, on HBO. It is touted to be the largest television production in the history of Canada and has been filmed in Alberta from July 2021 to June 2022.
The series revolves around a hardened smuggler and a teenage girl. Starring Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, The Last of Us follows these unlikely allies as they journey across what is left of the United States. As the episodes unfold, we realize that young Ellie might be the key to survival, as she’s immune to the deadly fungal infection which turns people into ruthless, bloodthirsty killers.
The Staircase (2022)
The Staircase is an American crime drama television series created by Antonio Campos, which is based on the 2004 crime docuseries of the same name by Jean-Xavier de Lestrade. The docuseries on which The Staircase is based is also inspired by a true event.
The series feature Colin Firth as Michael Peterson who is a crime novelist convicted of murdering his wife Kathleen Peterson (played by Toni Collette), after she was found dead at the bottom of the staircase in their home. As the investigation continues, the family is thrown into a tumultuous legal battle. Meanwhile, a French documentary team takes an interest in the story.
The series premiered on HBO Max on May 5, 2022.

The Rehearsal (2022-present)
One of the sharpest and most innovative comedians, Nathan Fielder is best known for his comedy docuseries Nathan for You. The Rehearsal though keeps similar in spirit but with a different premise. The plot of The Rehearsal revolves around Fielder who stars as the director of rehearsals, which are elaborately staged scenarios re-creating parts of ordinary people’s lives that are meant to help them prepare for a big moment in their lives. A construction crew, a legion of actors, and seemingly unlimited resources all come together to allow ordinary people to rehearse for these moments by giving them the opportunity to play them out in carefully crafted simulations of Fielder’s own design.

Our Flag Means Death (2022-present)
An American period romantic comedy television series Our Flag Means Death has been created by David Jenkins. Set in the early 18th century during the Golden Age of Piracy, the series follows the misadventures of gentleman-turned-pirate Stede Bonnet (Rhys Darby) and his crew who aboard the Revenge while trying to make a name for themselves as pirates and cross paths with famed pirate captain Blackbeard (Taika Waititi).
Rhys Darby stars as an aristocrat in Our Flag Means Death, whose midlife crisis leads him to leave his family behind and fulfill his dream of being a seafaring bandit, except that since he’s too nice, he miserably fails at it.

Peacemaker (2022-present)
Peacemaker is an American superhero television series created by James Gunn for the streaming service HBO Max, based on the DC Comics character of the same name.
It is the first DC Extended Universe (DCEU) television series and a spin-off from the 2021 film The Suicide Squad. Starring John Cena as the title character, who reprises his role from The Suicide Squad, the series is set after the events of the film, which further explores jingoistic killer Christopher Smith or the Peacemaker.
The plot of the series follows Christopher Smith or the Peacemaker who after recovering from the injuries he suffered during the events of The Suicide Squad (2021), is forced to join the mysterious A.R.G.U.S. black ops squad “Project Butterfly”. They are on a mission to identify and eliminate parasitic butterfly-like creatures who have taken over human bodies around the world.
