Kate Micucci, popular for her role as Lucy in Big Bang Theory, shared the good news with all her fans claiming her victory over lung cancer. In a TikTok uploaded by the 43-year-old, now-healthy actress, she revealed that she’s cancer-free after undergoing surgery last week to treat lung cancer.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, in the video, she confirmed that the surgery “went great” and the results proved that it “worked.” She said in the video, “I don’t need to do any other treatment, so big thank you to all my doctors and nurses and everyone that took just really great care of me and, and thanks to figuring it out early.”
The actress also revealed that she was “feeling really good today” and expressed her gratitude for how things turned out to be. She said, “Thank you all so much for the good wishes and all the love that I have received this past week. It meant so much to me and really came at the time that I really needed it. I’m just glad I can report some good news to you, and yeah, I’m excited to hang with my little boy for Christmas.”
Per PEOPLE, in the previous weekend, Micucci posted a video on TikTok revealing that she had already undergone surgery to remove the disease. She said, “Hey everybody, this is not a TikTok, it’s a ‘Sick Tok. I’m in the hospital but it’s because I had lung cancer surgery yesterday. They caught it really early.”
“It’s really weird, because I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life so uh, you know, it was a surprise,” Micucci added. “But also I guess, also, it happens and so the greatest news is they caught it early, they got it out, I’m all good.”
In the TikTok video, Micucci also said, “It’s been a little bit of a trip and [I’ll] probably be moving slowly for a few weeks but then I’ll be back at it. It’s been a little bit of a trip and [I’ll] probably be moving slow for a few weeks but then I’ll be back at it”
She later remarked, “Why am I still talking … ‘cause I’m on drugs!”
Replying to one of her fans who asked if she had any symptoms that caused her to get diagnosed, Micucci commented, “I had one thing in my bloodwork that came back really high. So I went to a preventative doc who did a few scans. He scanned my heart and that’s where the spot in my lung was noticed.”

Micucci appeared several times on the fan-favorite show, Big Bang Theory as Lucy, the romantic interest of Raj, portrayed by Kunal Nayyar in seasons 6, 7, and 10. According to Deadline, she had also recently lent her voice to the upcoming animated Angry Birds Mystery Island TV series. She also starred in NBC’s Four Kings, Scrubs, Till Death, Raising Hope, Steven Universe, How I Met Your Mother, Malcolm in the Middle, and others.
In films like The Last Hurrah, Bart Got a Room, and When in Rome, Micucci has contributed significant screen presence.
