Big Shot Season 3: What is the status of the series?

After many months of speculation, the unfortunate news has been confirmed the beloved series will be ending its run after two successful seasons. The cancellation is a bit surprising as the show did receive fairly good reviews from critics and fans around the world. The review aggregator for Rotten Tomatoes reported an approval rating of 78% based on 23 critic reviews, with an average rating of 6.6/10.

The website’s critics’ consensus reads, “Big Shot struggles to find much new to say, but it boasts strong performances and a sweet disposition, and, with a little perseverance, could become a show worth rooting for.” Metacritic gave the series a weighted average score of 65 out of 100 based on 11 critic reviews, indicating “generally favorable reviews.” We would also like to highlight that any official statement stating the reason for this decision has not been disclosed yet.

In the meantime, take a look at some of the fan’s reactions to the sudden cancellation of the show:

Big Shot: What happened in the series?

If you want to revisit this world, we recommend that the viewers should stream and rewatch the show exclusively on Disney+. In Season 1, After getting ousted from the NCAA, a men’s basketball coach is given a chance for redemption with a coaching position at an elite private high school. He soon learns that teenage players require empathy and vulnerability – foreign concepts for the stoic Coach Korn (John Stamos). By learning how to connect with his players, Marvyn starts to grow into the person he’s always hoped to be. The girls learn to take themselves more seriously, finding their footing both on and on the court.

In Season 2, Marvyn’s (Stamos) latest plan toward relevance is to get his team broadcast on ESPN, and his method is to recruit an unlikely player: Ava (Sara Echeagaray), a gutsy beach volleyball phenom whose public tantrum got her ousted from her own sport. Between losing their assistant coach Holly Barrett (Jessalyn Gilsig) to a rival school, new friction amongst teammates, sudden and unexpected proximity to boys, and off-the-court disasters that no one could’ve predicted this season, the Westbrook Sirens have even more to prove.
