The Chief Brand Officer of Billboard, Dana Droppo allegedly directed snarky comments in the form of ‘nasty’ tweets such as “loser” towards Taylor Swift and made fun of her for not being able to “keep a man,” in the past decade.
It was the Swifties who did some digging and found these tweets following which Droppo immediately deactivated her X account without any notice.

Droppo is now facing hate comments online with X users demanding that Billboard fire here immediately. They argued that it was ironic for a woman to make celebratory posts about the achievements of successful female pop icons on Billboard, but in hindsight, she could resort to calling them such names and making loose comments surrounding their pregnancy.
Droppo used Rihanna’s name in some of her posts earlier and commented on her childbirth, which crossed the line. In one of her old posts, she wrote, “Evelyn Lozada> Rihanna,” and in another, ” Rihanna is nervous her v*gina will be too deep after childbirth. One thing I learned today.”
Droppo’s actions made fans question her position. One fan pointed out, “A woman executive who celebrates Billboard events like ‘Women in Music’ but talks about female artists’ v*gina and compares them to dogs? This is the type of vile human you choose to represent your brand???”
We are deeply sorry to Taylor Swift and all of our readers and viewers that in a video celebrating Swift’s achievements, we included a clip that falsely depicted her. We have removed the clip from our video and sincerely regret the harm we caused with this error.

Droppo’s ‘nasty’ post about Swift read, “Taylor Swift is so the new Jennifer Aniston #CantKeepAMan #Loser #WhatsAWomanGoodFor.” This is about an appalling narrative against the 14-time Grammy winner that she would date several men one after the other, and was unable to secure a partner for a long time.
ofc @danadroppo chief of @billboard branding has said misogynist things about Taylor. It all makes sense now. Taylor deserves an apology. pic.twitter.com/r3PIJLZyeX

Further, in another post, the executive accused the ‘Don’t Blame Me’ singer of mouthing “shut the f**k up” during 1 Direction’s performance at the VMAs and compared the behavior to Kanye in 2009 when he interrupted the ‘Love Story’ singer’s award acceptance speech to say Beyonce deserved the award more.
She wrote in the now resurfaced post, “Taylor Swift mouthing shut the f**k up when 1 direction went on stage was so Kanye at the 2009 VMAs.”

The CBO has remained tight-lipped after deactivating her account and we are curious about how Billboard plans to address these comments that they let her post in the past, as well as their actions like posting Ye’s controversial clip on Swift’s tribute. A simple apology might not be enough to convince the audience of their accountability.
Why is Billboard facing backlash from Taylor Swift fans?
For those unversed, after the outlet ranked the pop star No. 2 on their list of ‘Best Pop Singers of the 21st Century,’ they posted a 60-second clip celebrating her achievements throughout her career. In the same video, they reposted a snippet of Kanye West’s controversial ‘Famous’ music video clip where a Swift wax figure was lying naked on a bed amongst several other wax figures of high-profiled personalities.

This infuriated fans online since it was one of the moments that the billionaire pop star wanted to put behind her.
However, due to Billboard’s actions, the clip resurfaced compelling fans to bash Billboard online through aggressive tweets. This resulted in Billboard offering a public apology to Taylor Swift through an X post.
