BORN PINK’s records

The BLACKPINK members have finally recorded a fabulous return under their belt with none other than BORN PINK itself. The album has reportedly sold 1,542,950 copies in the first week of its release, as recorded in the Hanteo chart numbers. The same has turned more than double compared to the group’s first album, The Album, with a number of 689,066 sold copies. As we reported earlier, BLACKPINK has now become the first girl group with the highest first-week sales and has surpassed Aespa’s The Girls, which earlier recorded 1,126,068 units. Earlier, it was also recorded that BORN PINK has become the first album by any female artist in Hanteo’s history to have sold over 1 million copies on the day of its release.

The Circle Chart record

In yet another news, Circle Chart, which is also known as the Gaon Chart, recorded 2,141,281 first-week sales for BLACKPINK’s BORN PINK. The record has made them the first K-pop girl group to have a double million seller title.

The title track

For the unversed, BORN PINK’s title track Shut Down is also creating records everywhere upon its release. YG Entertainment, the agency associated with BLACKPINK, earlier announced the album BORN PINK’s title song’s name as Shut Down. It was released in a total number of 43 countries and topped the iTunes song charts. The song had an even distribution of popularity in Asia, Oceania, Europe, and North and South America and climbed to the top of the iTunes Worldwide chart in no time! It also topped the charts in 54 countries on the iTunes Album Chart, including the UK and the US. The song further succeeded in reaching the top of the Apple Music album chart in not one but 60 countries.

Pink Venom

Prior to the release of BORN PINK, the BLACKPINK members had also dropped a pre-release track titled Pink Venom. The track became a rage immediately upon its release and continues to rule multiple music charts even now.
