There is no denying that BLACKPINK is one of the most iconic K-pop girl groups in present times. The girls have an immense fan following worldwide for all the obvious reasons. This year, the BLACKPINK members started their much-awaited world tour after making a massive comeback with their second studio album titled BORN PINK. Talking about the tour, it began on October 15, 2022, and is scheduled to get over next year. This is one of the most awaited tours of the popular K-pop group.

BLACKPINK’s new records

The BLACKPINK members are making their stops in North America, Asia, Europe, and Australia. The US leg of the tour is almost nearing the end, with only two more shows in Los Angeles at the Banc of California Stadium left out on November 19 and 20, 2022. Now, the latest that we know is that the girls are already setting records.

The group recently broke a new record after their latest show that happened in Newark. For the unversed, BLACKPINK holds the record for the highest-grossing U.S. concert by any female group in the group.

The record was broken with the group’s performance at the Prudential Center in Newark on November 14 and 15, 2022, grossing around 3.298 million USD per night. This is the first time in history that a girl group has ever earned over 3 million USD in a single arena concert in the US, and they did it twice at the Prudential Center.

2022 MTV EMAs

The 2022 MTV European Music Awards was held in Düsseldorf, Germany on November 13, 2022. BLACKPINK was among the many groups who won it big at the mega event for the ‘Best Metaverse Performance’ category ‘The Virtual.’ International media congratulated the popular K-pop girl band that has multiple records in its kitty already!

For the unversed, the BLACKPINK members could not attend the MTV EMAs 2022 because they are currently embarking on their BORN PINK world tour across multiple countries. However, the group did make sure to send a gratitude-filled video to BLINKS from all over the world.
