Like Jennie has been recently identified as the most-streamed 2025 song by a female artist worldwide. Surprisingly, the BLACKPINK member’s track has even surpassed Lady Gaga’s smash hit track, Abracadabra. According to the latest reports, the record combines the streaming and audio figures from platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and others.

This special achievement comes after Like Jennie was named the best-selling song released in 2025 by a K-pop artist in the United States. Well, this happened during the first half of the year when the song was able to sell more than 500,000 units in the country.

Like Jennie is the fourth single from Jennie’s debut studio album, Ruby, which was released on March 7, 2025.

In an interview with Elle Korea, she further revealed the deeper meaning behind the song. In the BLACKPINK member’s words, “In Like Jennie, ‘Jennie’ is just a pronoun. I made this song to convey the message that anyone who names themselves can love themselves and shine in their own way, and it was only used because my name is ‘Jennie.’” The K-pop star further revealed that she hopes everyone who sings the song will have that same feeling while calling it an anthem of confidence and healing.

Meanwhile, Ruby has also been acclaimed as the “Best Album by a K-pop Artist during the first half of 2025” by various specialized media and important magazines, including Billboard, Rolling Stone, Complex, and NME.

Pitchfork, a popular music website in the industry, named Jennie’s Ruby the “Best Album by a K-pop Soloist of all time”.
