BLACKPINK’s Lisa gets nominated for Premio Lo Nuestro Awards 2023

It is time for the BLACKPINK fans to rejoice because one of the members, Lisa has earned a nomination at the Premio Lo Nuestro awards 2023! On January 23, 2023, Premio Lo Nuestro (or Lo Nuestro Awards) announced their complete list of nominations for the 35th annual show. For the unversed, it is the longest-running Latin music ceremony.

The Lo Nuestro Awards is a Spanish-language awards show that is observed to celebrate the year’s best Latin music. For the unversed, it is presented by the popular Spanish-language U.S. TV network named Univision. The nominations for the same are based on assessments by various entertainment experts, the number of streaming counts, and Uforia radio airplay between October 1, 2021, to September 30, 2022.

BLACKPINK member Lisa has been nominated for her earlier “Crossover” Collaboration of the Year – “SG.” For the unversed, it was her October 2021 collaboration with renowned artists like DJ Snake, Megan Thee Stallion, and Ozuna.

BLACKPINK’s contract

The latest reports state that BLACKPINK’s contract with YG entertainment is going to end in August this year. Now, the biggest question is whether the group will be renewing its contract with the agency. On January 19, 2022, NH Investment & Securities reportedly predicted BLACKPINK will renew its contract with the label.

According to a few reports, it won’t be so easy for YG Entertainment to renew the contract as the K-pop group members are offered much higher guarantees elsewhere. According to one of the insiders, BLACKPINK’s Lisa is being offered 100 billion KRW to switch labels! Other insiders still believe YG Entertainment would have to offer at around 20 billion KRW per member for the new contract. According to a few reports, YG Entertainment is launching Baby Monster to mitigate the potential failure of closing the deal with BLACKPINK.

Coachella

The BLACKPINK members are all set to take on the Coachella stage once again! According to Hits Daily Double, the K-pop girl group will be one of the headlining acts for Coachella 2023. Bad Bunny and Frank Ocean will be among the others who will headline the much-awaited event. For the unversed, BLACKPINK is going to make history as the first ever K-Pop artist headlining act of Coachella. Back in 2019, the members already made history after becoming the first K-pop group to perform at the music festival.

Coachella 2023 is all set to take place from April 14, 2022, to April 23, 2022, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
