Talking about BLACKPINK’s previous work, The Album, the sales volume of the current album is 1.7 times that of 589,000 copies. Moreover, the BLACKPINK members also crossed 2 million copies of pre-order sales before the album’s grand release. The said record makes for the first double million sellers in the girl group’s history.
YG Entertainment, the agency associated with BLACKPINK, earlier announced the album BORN PINK’s title song, which is Shut Down. It was released in a total number of 43 countries and topped the iTunes song charts. The song had an even distribution of popularity in Asia, Oceania, Europe, and North and South America and climbed to the top of the iTunes Worldwide chart in no time! It also topped the charts in 54 countries on the iTunes Album Chart, including the UK and the US. The song further succeeded in reaching the top of the Apple Music album chart in not one but 60 countries.
The title song details
On September 16, 2022, YG Entertainment, the agency associated with BLACKPINK, finally released the music video for Shut Down. The video opens up with a sense of addictiveness as we get to hear the tunes of Paganini’s ‘La Campanella.’ The track makes us believe that they are the ruling K-pop queens, as the music video shows all the members spending their time together. This time, the group opted for a simple yet effective MV that makes multiple references to the older MVs that gave the BLINKs a little nostalgic feeling.
For the unversed, the official teaser for Shut Down’s music video was out a little before the main video’s release, and we couldn’t be more excited about the same! The BLACKPINK members Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo, and Lisa, have already given us a sneak peek of what we can expect by the end of this week with the release of the first music video teaser of Shut Down. As suggested by multiple reports earlier, the song adds a plethora of gripping violin tones and classical music that is heard in the background.
