2024 may prove to be a huge year for the popular K-pop girl group, BLACKPINK. For the unversed, the group has just renewed their contract with YG Entertainment, the agency associated with them for the longest possible time. Now, one of the group’s members, Jennie, has made yet another record on the Billboard charts. Not only that but she has broken the record of none other than BTS itself! Well, that is definitely going to send a shockwave across South Korea and the entire globe, isn’t it?

Jennie’s New Record
BLACKPINK’s Jennie has recently made a name for herself on the Billboard charts this week, all thanks to her solo single “One of the Girls.” The same track has risen on the Rhythmic Airplay chart. For the unversed, this particular chart ranks the most popular tracks on all the radio stations across the United States. It further focuses on rhythmic music–hip-hop and R&B aimed at a larger audience across the world. Jennie’s track has risen from No. 29 to No. 26 to make a new record on the charts.
“One of the Girls” now also ranks as the third-highest-charting hit from a female South Korean artist in the history of the Rhythmic Airplay chart. With this, Jennie has finally passed BTS and has already earned just two placements on the same tally. The same solo hit had also ranked fourth on this all-time list. As of now, the catchy pop smash has broken the record of BTS’ Butter.
Other Relevant Records
Until just a few weeks ago, “Gangnam Style” by PSY ruled as the top performer in this regard. The single has come all the way to No. 15 a decade ago. South Korean artists do not often appear on the Rhythmic Airplay chart. For the unversed, he did not face any competition for this bit of history for many years. Jungkook recently grabbed the same honor, and now it seems like BLACKPINK’s Jennie could be making a play for his spot too.
