Record in China
BLACKPINK’s BORN PINK has recently become the best-selling female digital album in China. The excellent record has made the BLACKPINK members surpass other internationally recognized artists like Taylor Swift in the country. For the unversed, BORN PINK has sold 814,000 digital albums in China as compared to Taylor Swift’s Midnights, which sold 554,000 albums in the country. Apart from that, (G)I-DLE’s I Never Die is the third best-selling female digital album in China, with 534,000 albums.

The tours
The BLACKPINK members finally kicked off their tour, starting with SEOUL and the BLINKS were equally excited about the same. For the unversed, the K-pop girl group kicked off the tour in sync with the promotion of their second album, BORN PINK, on October 15, 2022, at the Olympic Gymnastic Arena in South Korea. The members also performed in the second show that was scheduled at the same venue the next day before heading to North America for their upcoming series of concerts.

BORN PINK
On August 8, 2022, YG Entertainment, the agency associated with BLACKPINK, released the group’s BORN PINK world schedule! For the unversed, the world tour started on October 15 this year in Seoul and will continue till June 21 next year in Auckland, New Zealand. Well, there is no denying that the divas have a long tour schedule lined up! Previously, the BLACKPINK members confirmed their comeback, which is scheduled for August 19, 2022. The said announcement was made by YG Entertainment again on August 8, 2022.
The excellent record
BLACKPINK has become the first-ever K-pop act to have received a nomination for Best Video at this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards. The EMAs recently announced its nomination list for 2022 on October 12, which included a nomination of the South Korean girl group in the Best Video category for the music video of Pink Venom. It has made them the first K-pop group to receive a nomination in the specific category.
Apart from the Best Video nomination, the BLACKPINK members also got nominated for three other categories of the EMAs – Best Metaverse Performance (for the PUBG in-game concert titled ‘The Virtual’), Biggest Fans, and Best K-pop. Other than that, the group’s member Lisa also got nominated as one of the separate contenders for Best K-pop for her work as a soloist.
