The VMAs are here, and guess who’s made it to the top of the nominations! It’s BLACKPINK’s Rosé. The K-pop idol has received eight nominations at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards for her song, APT.
This is the first time that Rosé has been nominated as a solo artist, and her recent reaction says it all!
As soon as the BLACKPINK member got the news about her VMA nomination, she poured out her thoughts in a video that has now gone viral on social media. Calling it a ‘crazy day,’ Rosé said that she was completely speechless, surprised, and emotional.
Here’s what the singer said on her Instagram story, “So I’ve just heard that I’ve received 8 VMA nominations. I’m beyond shocked and just don’t know what to say. I’m absolutely speechless. This is a crazy day. Whoa. It’s really, really wild. What’s happening?”
It seems like the day has just started for the BLACKPINK member as she has broken numerous records after her recent nomination for the VMAs 2025. For the unversed, Rosé has become one of the most nominated South Korean artists at the MTV Video Music Awards this year.
Her collaboration with Bruno Mars for the song APT has received nods for Song of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Collaboration and Best Pop.
The eye-catching music video was co-directed by Bruno Mars and Daniel Ramos and is also nominated in the Best Direction category. Meanwhile, Elizabet Puksto is nominated for Best Art Direction for the same video, while Maksymilian Rafal Ojster is listed under Best Visual Effects.
Alongside this major project, Rose has also been nominated in the Best K-Pop category for her solo track titled Toxic Till the End, co-starring Evan Mock.
Meanwhile, the rest of the BLACKPINK members, Jennie, Jisoo and Lisa also received nominations in the same category. Jisoo’s Earthquake, Jennie’s Like JENNIE, and Lisa’s Born Again with Doja Cat and RAYE are in the list.
Right now, all the BLACKPINK members are busy with their world tour and have already made stops at some of the most popular cities. While they will be performing in Milan today, the group’s upcoming stops include Barcelona and Wembley.
