Will there be another season of this American action-adventure television series or not? Continue reading to find out.
If you recall the events of the second season finale episode, “Showdown in Hong Kong,” which premiered on Paramount+ back on October 2, 2022. The viewers got to see the season’s conclusion, which showed, “Realizing they’ve taken the Kahn’s bait and put the lives of millions in jeopardy, Danny and Lexi come face to face with the Kahn in one final battle above Hong Kong.”
This kind of “Happily Ever After,” ending started a debate among the fandom to speculate about the storyline if the show gets renewed and expands on a brilliant antiquities expert and a cunning art thief teaming up to catch a ruthless terrorist who funded his attacks through stolen artifacts. So, if you are one of them, then you have reached the right place!
Here is everything we know so far about Blood & Treasure Season 3.
Blood & Treasure Season 3: What is the status of the series?
It looks like Lexi and Danny’s adventure is finally over! It is sad to report that the chance to watch more seasons of “Blood & Treasure,” was short-lived, as the network has confirmed that the third season has been scrapped! The cancellation comes after two seasons that received mixed reviews from critics and fans around the world.
The review aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes, the series holds an approval rating of 54% with an average rating of 5.78/10, based on 13 reviews. On the other hand, Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the series a score of 52 out of 100 based on 7 critics, indicating “mixed or average reviews.”
In addition to this, the cancellation was first announced by TVLine, and the report hints that on the day of the Season 2 finale’s release. Many fans recall that Federman told fans via Twitter, “I don’t know what the future holds, but I’m very proud of what we got to do with this show, shooting our little action/adventure on four continents and through a pandemic. Thanks to our partners at CBS, who trusted us to pull it off, and our amazing writers, cast, crew, and staff. It was very much the adventure of a lifetime. And thanks to everyone who watched and spread the word.”
There appears to have been doubts in the minds of the show’s creators long before the second season was seen by the fans, as co-creator Scaia, was simply overjoyed to get the second season in front of everyone after three years, and navigating much global pandemic globe-trotting for the production itself had been a massive victory.”We went through so much to get it on screen for everybody, and I think that’s a victory in and of itself, outside of where the story goes from there.” This statement kind of shows that the cancellation plan for the third season might have been in the works, which has sadly turned into a reality for the fans who wanted more from the series.
If you want to revisit the world, we suggest that the viewers should stream and revisit the story exclusively on Paramount Plus. The series stars Matt Barr as Danny McNamara, Sofia Pernas as Lexi Vaziri, James Callis as Simon Hardwick, Katia Winter as Gwen Karlsson, Michael James Shaw as Aiden Shaw, Oded Fehr as Karim Farouk, Alicia Coppola as Dr. Ana Castillo, Mark Gagliardi as Father Chuck, and Michelle Lee as Violet. Blood & Treasure was produced by CBS Studios in association with Propagate Content. Matthew Federman, Stephen Scaia, Taylor Elmore, Ben Silverman, Marc Webb, Mark Vlasic, and Howard T. Owens served as executive producers.
