The long wait is finally over. After about a decade, Borgen Season 4 is all set to make its way to the viewers’ hearts.
Borgen first aired in Denmark in 2020 with its first season. The series concluded with Season 3, which was released in 2013. Over the course of its airing time, Borgen had gained a huge global fan base. It has been well-received by both audience and critics. The series was a huge hit in UK and Denmark, especially.
Netflix saw the opportunity and in 2020 partnered with DR (producer) and took over the series to release Borgen Season 4. Borgen follows the story of a politician Birgitte Nyborg who unexpectedly becomes Denmark’s first female prime minister.
Many people believe that the main character, Birgitte Nyborg, is based on Denmark’s first female prime minister, Helle Thorning-Schmidt. Though it wasn’t until the second season of the show that Helle was elected as the Prime Minister. The creator of the series, Adam Price, once stated, “I definitely want you to believe there is a shred of idealism in Birgitte Nyborg that is real. She’s also become a very professional political being, but there is definitely that idealism, and that’s important.”
Was Borgen canceled?
