“There is nothing quite like the sweet-scented smell of success. It’s clear the season won’t be quite so fragrant for everyone.” – Lady Whistledown
As the new season of Bridgerton is officially on its way! We can already see that the story is getting more interesting with each season, which will be interesting to explore. It is undoubtedly one of the most successful series on Netflix, and the demand among the fans leads to a lot of speculation, as there are many potential theories and predictions spreading around social media for months about the next arcs of these beloved characters.
If you want to know about the major details for the next season, then you have reached the right place! As we’ve compiled a list of all the important details which are also crucial to the book series.
If you’d prefer not to learn about these spoilers, we suggest you stop reading now!
Will Daphne and Simon Have Another Baby?
The final episode of Bridgerton’s first season, “After the Rain,” features Simon and Daphne welcoming their first child, a baby boy. Daphne casually reveals her son Augie’s name in the second season, demonstrating that they adhered to Simon’s request to carry on the Bridgerton family tradition of giving children alphabetical names. If you have read the books, in The Duke and I, Simon and Daphne eventually have five children. Amelia is their first child, Amelia, followed by daughters Belinda and Caroline, and finally, boys David and Edward Hastings. Although Daphne and Simon’s expanding family hasn’t received any official announcements, it’s likely that they will welcome a second child.
As the Netflix series is now departing from the book series order, it is very likely that season three will open with a significant time jump, meaning it may take place months to a year or two after the conclusion of season two. A time jump, according to many fans, is required to properly set up Benedict’s story and show how Penelope and Colin’s relationship has developed. On the other hand, it’s also probable that Daphne will become pregnant in the third season and give birth to a child in the fourth season. Hopefully soon, the Duke and Duchess of Hastings will welcome more children in the future, we just have to wait and see.
What will Happen to Lady Whistledown?
Eloise Bridgerton is identified as Lady Whistledown by her best friend Penelope at the conclusion of Season 2. Since the Queen was certain that Eloise was the author and was prepared to punish her, Pen saw it as Eloise’s advantage to reveal their friendship with Theo. Eloise, however, interprets it as a cunning power move that exposes how little Penelope really values the people she claims to be loyal to. We saw in Season 2 how much pleasure Whistledown brings Pen, and when Eloise considers telling the Queen she is Whistledown, for which Pen feels threatened.
Consequently, even though it briefly appeared as though the gap between Eloise and Penelope would prevent Lady Whistledown from writing, by the end of the season, Penelope picks up her pen once more. So perhaps the symbolism here is that Lady Whistledown has made up her mind to keep going even if Eloise’s discovery results in Penelope being made public. In her personal life, she is particularly devastated and wounded over losing her best friend and she thinks of being rejected by Colin. It is clear to say that she is doubling down on her newfound career fulfillment at the same time as the series.
What happened to Eloise and Theo?
We know that Eloise is a free thinker who was shown to be completely uninterested in men and marriage in Season 1, despite the fact that the previous season purported to be about her introduction to society. Theo, a young man who is not of her social class but shares her intellectual interests and introduces her to stimulating new political thought, was introduced to Eloise in the show, and while she was predictably unimpressed with society’s offering of gentlemen, he was far more excited.
The two had a burgeoning romance on the show, but Penelope’s interference and his skepticism stopped her from continuing. Many fans would like to see more of Theo in the future because Eloise is obviously upset in this scene. Theo isn’t actually in the Bridgerton novels, though — major book spoiler ahead – and in Book 5, To Sir Philip, With Love, Eloise weds Sir Phillip Crane, Marina’s current husband. Although Marina is a distant cousin of the Bridgertons, not the Featheringtons, in the books, Eloise meets him after Marina passes away, and before they ever actually meet, Eloise and Philip, fall in love through letter-writing to one another.
Bridgerton Season 3: Where to stream the new season?
Yes, Bridgerton Season 3 will definitely return to your screen, but just not this year. If we were to guess, we suspect Netflix is setting up Bridgerton Season 3 for an early 2023 release, considering the last season came out on March 25, 2022. Moreover, it will have the same premiere time as other shows on the streaming service, which is 12:00 a.m. (PT) or 3:00 a.m. (ET). In order to receive updates on when the show premieres on Netflix, interested viewers can also enable notifications. Of course, this is just speculation, and the fans should wait and keep a closer eye on the social media handles of the show to know about all the latest details and updates.
When Bridgerton Season 3 draws close to its release date, the series will be available exclusively on Netflix, with other series of the same genre also accessible on the streaming platform with a range of membership options. The video quality and the number of screens you can use to stream Netflix simultaneously depend on the package you choose. The basic membership starts at $9.99/month, and the standard membership starts at $15.49/month. You may play mobile games and stream movies and TV shows at no additional cost with any of their services.
The focus of Season 3 is Penelope and Colin’s relationship, which is the subject of Romancing Mister Bridgerton, the fourth book in Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series. The official synopsis from the first lines of the pilot episode titled, “Out of the Shadows,” states, “Dearest gentle reader, we’ve been apart for far too long. At last, London’s smart set has made its return, and so too has this author. As the season begins the question on everyone’s minds is, of course, which newly-minted debutante will shine the brightest? The crop this year appears to be rather dazzling indeed, unfortunately, not every young lady can attract the light.” This is narrated by Nicola Coughlan, the actress who plays Penelope in the series.
