Are you ready to follow the next chapter of this beloved historical fiction-romance series? If yes, then you have no idea how amazing the new season is going to be, as it is going to be filled with unexpected twists and turns that always promise to be a rollercoaster ride of emotions that you won’t want to miss!

As always, the show will revolve around an eponymous fictional family and be set in the competitive world of Regency-era London’s tonne during the social season, when marriageable youth of nobility and gentry are launched into society. We know that since the series was renewed for its third season along with the fourth one back in April 2021, fans have been curious to know all the new details that have been disclosed so far.

If you are wondering the same thing, then we can assure you that you have reached the right place to know all your answers about the much-anticipated third chapter, which we definitely think is going to captivate the audience once again as it has done for the last two successful seasons. Here is everything we know so far about Netflix’s Bridgerton Season 3.

Bridgerton Season 3: Will we get new updates in July 2023?

Bridgerton Season 3: Are there any latest updates in July 2023?

The first thing we want to point out is that the majority of details have been kept under wraps, which is understandable given that the network does not want early spoilers to leak all over social media, thereby jeopardizing the audience’s interest. But we are certain that the fans are curious to know if we’ll get any new updates this month as the third season began principal photography in July 2022 and wrapped in March 2023.

Firstly, we want to confirm that the promotion of the third season had officially kicked off, as we got our very first update last month when Nicola Coughlan stopped by Tudum: A Global Fan Event to reveal the first photos of the fetching couple Penelope Featherington and her longtime crush, world traveler Colin Bridgerton, in Bridgerton Season 3. The new photos showcased Penelope with a “whole new look,” and Colin looking every bit fresh and handsome from his travels to France, Spain, and Italy.

During the event, Coughlan was greeted by excited Polin fans as she talked about what they can expect to see in the third season, stating, “We open our season with the ton’s return from the countryside… Both Colin and Pen have done some growing up. And only time will tell how their friendship will develop.” She added, “This season, Penelope returns to London determined to become a new woman with a new independence… We cannot wait to take you along for the carriage ride.”

So, it is pretty much clear that the first look reveal was a massive success, which generated a lot of buzz on social media, and it paid off because the fandom is ready to get their hands on the new episodes, which will last for a while! As a result, we don’t think any new updates will be provided in the month of July 2023. But we anticipate that the network will soon start revealing more details about the official release date, which is speculated to make its return sometime late this year or even in early 2024!

Until there is any confirmation, we urge readers to check out the complete Tudum: A Global Fan Event, which was live-streamed on Netflix’s Youtube channel last month on June 18, 2023, from So Paulo, Brazil, to get a quick insight into all the behind-the-scenes looks of some of the most anticipated shows and films from around the world.

Bridgerton Season 3 Plot: What is the new season about?

The third season will follow Quinn’s fourth novel, “Romancing Mister Bridgerton,” which will focus on Penelope and Colin’s friendship turning into one of the best romantic relationships!

The season will continue after Season 2’s Featherington Ball. Penelope is left heartbroken after overhearing Colin say to a group of bachelors that he would never court her… But Penelope is moving away from her crush on Colin and is determined to find herself a husband who’ll allow her the independence to continue her work as Lady Whistledown. But Colin quickly realizes that he’s losing his long-time friend and wants to win her back. He then offers to help Penelope improve her confidence to better attract a proposal.

Once Colin’s lessons start to work a little too well, he’ll have to grapple with the possibility that his feelings for Penelope aren’t strictly platonic. Penelope’s falling out with Colin’s little sister Eloise Bridgerton (Jessie) – who will find an unlikely new friend in Season 3 – further complicates the Polin matter. This is different from how the books are supposed to be read because book 3 is about Benedict Bridgerton’s courtship and marriage, while book 4 is about Penelope and Colin’s romance.

So, their story has been adapted as a series before the third season is exciting as their bond has been kind of hinted at since the inception of the show, which turns into Bridgertons first friends-to-lovers trope! Nicola Coughlan also mentioned to Netflix Tudum that the pair is “the Ross and Rachel” of Bridgerton, adding, “But Penelope is the Ross. She’s the one secretly harboring the love for him.” Luke Newton also wants to see another side to his character. “I’m hoping that he has sort of a more sensitive side to him,” Newton added.

“I love that we are exploring a relationship that so many people have had, where you form a friendship and you get to know each other down to the core. Then it sparks something from there.”

Moreover, the main official synopsis from the first lines of the pilot episode titled, Out of the Shadows states, “Dearest gentle reader, we’ve been apart for far too long. At last, London’s smart set has made its return, and so too has this author. As the season begins the question on everyone’s minds is, of course, which newly-minted debutante will shine the brightest? The crop this year appears to be rather dazzling indeed, unfortunately, not every young lady can attract the light.”

Widowed at an early age, she enjoys the privileges and power that come with being at the helm of her former husband’s estate, living life on her own terms with financial independence and sexual freedom.

On the other hand, we know what you’re thinking—if Regé-Jean Page, who played the smoldering Duke of Hastings in Season 1, is returning or not. Sadly, he will not be reprising his role in Season 3. Moreover, back in January 2023, Phoebe Dynevor, who plays Daphne, also confirmed she would not be returning but could reprise her role ‘potentially in the future.’ Lastly, Jess Brownell will replace Van Dusen as writer and showrunner for the third and fourth seasons.
