Britney Spears is being the brave new girl with her latest Instagram post, in which she candidly shared about her marriage with Sam Asghari, giving a glimpse into an extremely unfiltered perspective.
On August 24, 2025, the 43-year-old pop icon hit “post” to a sensuous photo of hers in which she depicted her bare back. However, the caption lay bare her innermost feelings, reflecting the time when she was not allowed to see or even talk to her two sons. Admitting those to be the hardest years of her life, the “…Baby One More Time” singer confessed that her marriage to Sam Asghari during that rough period was a ‘fake distraction’ to her.
In a now-deleted caption, she wrote, “We’re just people so fragile and human the hardest years of my life were my two sons gone for those 3 years … I was cut off from calling or texting and I remember in shock my secret to survival was denial and a lot of tears its weird me and Sam were married but it almost felt like a fake distraction to help me deal with it …”

Instead of her music or dance videos, which normally would bless her fans’ feed, this post set a different, more serious tone for them. The singer had not been so frank about the pain of separation from her children and her marriage to Asghari, for that matter, on social media before.
Met in 2016 on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video, Spears and Asghari reportedly said their “I do’s” in June 2022. Per The Statesman, it was a glamorous ceremony, one that made headlines globally. But over the period of time, things went downhill with Sam Asghari filing for divorce in August 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
They were officially divorced in May 2024. Be that as it may, the Iranian-American model, Asghari, mentioned earlier this year that his priority has always been to protect Britany, despite the hurdles in their relationship. Additionally, he also confirmed that he had signed an NDA during his seven-year relationship with the “Gimme More” singer.

She continued to unveil the trauma she experienced at her home, mentioning, “I believe although I loved my home there is waaay too much abuse and trauma in there…. Today I thank jesus for food it feel like telling others NO… Owning my body… and letting them REALLY know where im from… My soul has never experienced food like this a day in my life… so silly and embarrassing im going to eat cookies and cream ice cream now…god bless u all.”
Per Page Six, Spears had finally reunited with her 18-year-old son, Jayden, after 3 years of total estrangement. In November 2024, the mother-son duo were reportedly “spending a lot of time together” after he was back in California. Spears’ sons, Jayden James and Sean Preston, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, relocated to Hawaii to spend some time with their father.

It seems that everything is indeed moving in the right direction for Spears, especially in relation to her sons, because she has been posting videos and photos of her sons on social media lately. Expressing gratitude about her motherhood, she continued to write, “I made a person!!! A live breathing person and I made two of them!!! And my boys are so incredibly sweet and charming!!!”
