Once a rising popstar, Britney Spears shone through the fallacies of the Hollywood music industry and made it to the top during the 90s music era. Thereafter, her plummet from fame resulted in a series of faltering decisions whereby her father was appointed as her conservator.

In her bestselling memoir ‘The Woman In Me,’ Page Six reports that Spears said that her father, Jamie Spears, controlled every aspect of her eating habits while he was her conservator. She claimed that her father always said she was looking fat and put her on a ‘strict diet.’ Per Page Six reports, the 41-year-old pop princess pens down the following words in her book, “The irony was that we had a butler—an extravagance—and I would beg him for real food,” reiterating that she would beg to be let eaten a hamburger or some ice cream. Spears claims, “So for two years, I ate almost nothing but chicken and canned vegetables.”

“Two years of asking for french fries and being told no. I found it so degrading,” the singer continues in her book on Page Six. This constant control of her father over her food habits made her feel out of control. As she writes, “[her] body wasn’t [hers] anymore.” Adding to this, the ‘Toxic’ singer writes, “I felt scared,” continuing, “I’ll be honest, I was f–king miserable.”

The ‘Oops I Did It Again’ singer reiterates in her book that her strict diet and rigorous exercise regimen did nothing for her physique as she continued gaining weight despite her abstinence. Spears writes, “Even though I wasn’t eating as much, he made me feel so ugly and like I wasn’t good enough,” adding, “Maybe that’s because of the power of your thoughts: whatever you think you are, you become.”

She continues in her memoir, “My body was strong enough to carry two children and agile enough to execute every choreographed move perfectly onstage,” adding, “And now here I was, having every calorie recorded so people could continue to get rich off my body.” The ‘Slave4U’ alleged that no one else found that her diet was being extremely micromanaged up to the point where she gave in to her father’s demands and surrendered. She writes, “My family would stay in Destin, a pretty beach town in Florida, at a ridiculously beautiful condo that I bought for them and eat good-tasting food every night while I was starving and working.”

Page Six also reports via Spears’ book where she wrote that ‘Jamie, 71, forced her to enter rehab in 2014 while she was performing in her “Piece of Me” residency in Las Vegas and that he said, “I’m Britney Spears now,” implying she was solely there for “cash flow” purposes.’

Amidst flagging protests from Spears fans all over the world, her conservatorship, which lasted 13 years, was finally terminated in 2021. However, Page Six reports that her father, Jamie, 71, was discharged from his conservatorship duties two months prior to termination on the grounds that he was extremely ‘abusive’ towards her. Judge Brenda Penny said in court at the time, per Page Six reports, “The current situation is untenable,” adding, “It reflects a toxic environment which requires the suspension of James Spears effective today.”

To these innumerable allegations made by Spears on her father, Jamie maintained his innocence through his attorney in a report acquired by Page Six that said, “Mr. Spears loves his daughter Britney unconditionally. For thirteen years, he has tried to do what is in her best interests, whether as a conservator or her father.”

Whether these allegations are true or not, we are glad Spears is finally getting the chance to voice her opinions without blockage.
