The said track is Hold Me Closer, and within a few hours of its release, the song has already ranked number one on multiple charts, as expected by the fans of the two artists. For the unversed, the Gimme More singer made a comeback with a single after a 6-year hiatus.
The collaboration
The collab between Britney Spears and Elton John was in the making for several years. It first started when the two of them met at the 22nd Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party in the year 2014. It was after their first meeting that Spears shared a subsequent tweet expressing her love for Elton John’s hit song Tiny Dancer. Her viral tweet paved the way for anticipations regarding collaboration between the two artists. Things further picked up pace in summer when Elton John heard the single and recognized that Britney Spears’ vocals could fit the record.

Elton John recently opened up on his collaboration with Britney Spears and said, “I am absolutely thrilled to have had the chance to work with Britney Spears; She truly is an icon, one of the all-time great pop stars and she sounds amazing on this record.” He further complimented the pop sensation and added, “I love her dearly and am delighted with what we’ve created together.”
Meanwhile, Britney Spears also talked about how much she loved working with John and said, “I was so honoured when the incredible Sir Elton John asked me to join him on one of his most iconic songs.
