Britney Spears is sharing new reflections as she moves into the holiday season.
The pop icon, 43, recently restored her Instagram presence after briefly stepping away earlier in the month. Following her return, she posted a long caption on Saturday, Nov. 29, that centered on emotional growth, vulnerability, and the value of listening to her inner child.
The message accompanied a video of Spears dancing to Adele’s Send My Love (To Your New Lover).
In the clip, she also lip-syncs to lyrics including, “We’ve gotta let go of all of our ghosts / We both know we ain’t kids no more.”
Spears opened her original caption with a note about self-reflection.
“Haven’t found my party dress for this year… Reflecting is good for the soul… Sometimes when hard things happen, good things come from it and we learn… I learned that a real note of expression with emotion speaks volumes for us all!!”
She then shifted her message to the idea of maintaining childlike honesty and sensitivity.
“Call it childish, silly, annoying… We grow up to become women but do you dare keep the most sensitive part of the soul and allow it to rebel… the child within must speak in the most vulnerable of times,” she wrote.
Spears continued by addressing themes of grief, emotional struggle, and personal transformation. Her message also appeared to reference the title of her best-selling memoir, The Woman in Me.

“Sadness and darkness survive to make an understanding of losing someone and of the hurt and pain… Sometimes through suffering and ugliness and sacrifice, extremely rare and beautiful things can be manifested and shared that can touch another person so they understand they are not alone… and yet the woman in me will make sure I find my destination.”
She concluded her caption with a lighthearted postscript about her Thanksgiving celebration.
“PS I can’t even look at food after this Thanksgiving… I cheated I was so bad… but it felt so damn good… forgive me father.”
By the next day, Spears had revised the caption significantly. The updated post kept only a brief personal note. “I felt pretty in that bathing suit … psss gotta find those Mary Jane shoes.”
The revised message reflected a pattern Spears has used before, where she edits or shortens lengthy captions after initially posting them.
Her weekend update followed a period of attention surrounding her temporary Instagram deactivation.
Spears had removed her account on Nov. 2 in the midst of renewed public interest related to comments from her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, who is promoting his memoir You Thought You Knew.
Her decision to deactivate came after fans expressed concern about previous posts in which she shared dancing videos while turning off comments. Those videos included captions that touched on her relationship with her sons, Jayden James, 19, and Sean Preston, 20.
Earlier this fall, a representative for Spears addressed allegations from Federline’s book in a statement issued to PEOPLE on Oct. 14.
“With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin,” the representative said.
“All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being.”
Spears has not directly commented on Federline’s recent statements since reactivating her account. Her most recent posts have instead focused on personal reflection, emotional expression, and lighter moments from her daily life.
As the holidays continue, Spears appears to be using her social media to highlight both moments of vulnerability and moments of comfort, offering glimpses into the balance she is seeking during this period of transition.
