It’s barely been a week since the iconic pop singer took the world by storm when she dropped her most anticipated memoir, “The Woman in Me,” on October 24, 2023.
Since its release, the book has been nothing less than a jaw-dropper, with each page containing major bombshell revelations about the highs and lows of the singer’s very public life since her debut in the music industry. It chronicles Spears’s journey to stardom, the publicized challenges she faced, and her endeavors to break free from a longstanding conservatorship that once controlled her life.
Spears’ entire fandom, popularly known as “Britney Army or B Army” is still busy dissecting every line of her memoir, but the surprises don’t seem to end anytime soon as The princess of pop recently took to social media to drop an exciting announcement that hints that her memoir might not just be a one and done deal. The “Oops!… I Did It Again” singer has teased that there will be another installment of her memoir arriving much sooner than you think.
Yes! You read it right. The pop star has promised Volume 2, which is set to grace bookshelves in 2024.
On Saturday, Spears took to her Instagram and announced the release of her second memoir, with the post showcasing a video of a man banging a drum with a gavel-like device she shared among her followers, quoting, “Humor is the cure to everything !!! Play on !!!” she wrote in the caption. “Volume 2 will be released next year … get ready!”
However, despite this sudden announcement, sources close to Spears tell Variety that there is no Volume 2 in the works, and neither does the book have a tentative release date confirmed, as mentioned in the post.
Side Note: The post has now been removed, but you can see it on Twitter, where fans expressed their delight at the news of Volume 2.

Since its release after being published by Gallery Books, a division of Simon & Schuster. The title is a reference to a lyric in her song “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman” (2001), where she sings, “I’m just trying to find the woman in me.” The Woman in Me was released in audiobook format simultaneously with the other editions. The book received widespread acclaim for its “heart-wrenching and emotional” content.
Before its release, the memoir debuted atop Amazon’s best-selling “new release” books. Following its publication, it appeared on weekly book sales charts in multiple countries. Moreover, in a press release, Gallery Books called it “a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope,” adding the book “illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms.”
In the book, Spears also expresses the wariness she faced in asking for freedom from her conservatorship. “My voice had been used for me, and against me, so many times I was afraid nobody would recognize it now if I spoke freely. What if they called me crazy? What if they said I was lying?” Spears wrote.
On the other hand, the official synopsis of the memoir, as per the website, reads:
In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history.
Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.
