Britney Spears thinks Taylor Swift is the “most iconic pop woman” of her generation

Britney Spears, who released her bestselling memoir, The Woman In Me, is reminiscing about the time she met Taylor Swift for the first time while she was on her Oops!… I Did It Again Tour is all the positive girl talk to need today.

The Oops!… I Did It Again Singer shared a side-by-side collage picture of the two posing for the camera in 2003 when Spears first met Swift, and the second picture, which was taken in 2008. In the caption, she recalled the time a friend of hers introduced a little girl (Swift) who wanted to be a singer, writing, “This is way back when but kinda cool … During my Oops Tour, I got a knock at my door,” Spears wrote in the caption of the post. “My good friend at the time was the assistant to my manager who was trying to become a manager himself. There was a knock, and then he said, ‘I have a girl named Taylor who wants to come in and sing for you.’”(via People).

She continued the moment in her caption per People, saying, “I was like of course !!! He walks in, and she sings a beautiful song with her guitar. I was like wow wow she’s unbelievable !!! We took a picture, and she then became the most iconic pop woman of our generation. Kinda cool she plays stadiums, and I prefer her videos over movies any day. She’s stunning !!! Girl crush.”

The 41-year-old singer sang praises to the record-breaking global pop icon days after she launched her Eras Tour and took it to an international level, kicking it off in March with Glendale, Arizona, and closing the curtains in August after a six-night stint at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, per People. Her pit stops over the next year will constitute places like Tokyo, Sydney, Singapore, Paris, Madrid, and London.
