‘Bros’ sets streaming date on Peacock

Bros is a 2022 American romantic comedy film starring Billy Eichner and Luke Macfarlane from the ferocious comic mind of Billy Eichner and the hitmaking brilliance of filmmakers Nicholas Stoller and Judd Apatow, Bros is a smart, swoony, and heartfelt comedy about two gay men and how hard it is to find another tolerable human being to go through life with. On the other hand, on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 88% based on 210 reviews. When will Bros premiere on Peacock?

Bros had its world premiere at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival on September 9, 2022. Universal spent between $30 million and $40 million marketing the film and commercially released it in theaters in the United States on October 11, 2022. After its theatrical premiere, the movie will be released on Peacock on December 2, 2022, with other shows and movies on the streaming service.

The official description of the movie states, “Universal Pictures proudly presents the first romantic comedy from a major studio about two gay men maybe, possibly, probably, stumbling towards love. Maybe. They’re both very busy. From the ferocious comic mind of Billy Eichner (Billy on the Street, 2019’s The Lion King, Difficult People, Impeachment: American Crime Story) and the hitmaking brilliance of filmmakers Nicholas Stoller (the Neighbors films, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Judd Apatow (The King of Staten Island, Trainwreck, The Big Sick), comes Bros, a smart, swoony and heartfelt comedy about how hard it is to find another tolerable human being to go through life with.”

The film is produced by Judd Apatow, Stoller, and Joshua Church (co-producer of Trainwreck, Step Brothers) and is executive produced by Eichner. The film is produced under Universal Pictures on a budget of $22 million. The movie stars Billy Eichner, the first openly gay man to co-write and star in his own major studio film—and features an entirely LGBTQ+ principal cast, including Billy Eichner as Bobby Lieber, Luke Macfarlane as Aaron Shepard, Ts Madison as Angela, Monica Raymund as Tina, Guillermo Díaz as Edgar, Guy Branum as Henry, Amanda Bearse as Anne Shepard.

The first official trailer dubbed the “NSFW Trailer,” was released on May 18, 2022, and the second official teaser trailer of 2:52 minutes for the film was released on June 16, 2022, which highlights the plot with a tagline stating, “Bobby is a neurotic podcast host who’s happy to go on Tinder dates and content not to have a serious relationship. That all changes when he meets Aaron, an equally detached lawyer who likes to play the field. Repeatedly drawn to each other, both men begin to show their vulnerable sides as their undeniable attraction turns into something resembling a commitment.” Take a look at the official teaser trailer below:
