The TikTok 2024 Trend Press Conference held in Seoul on December 7th unveiled insights into the global music trends of 2023, with a specific focus on the influence of K-pop. Notable acts such as BTS, BLACKPINK, and FIFTY FIFTY emerged as frontrunners, showcasing their impact on the world music scene.

Year On Chart Highlights

The Year On chart, a comprehensive analysis of TikTok music trends, placed FIFTY FIFTY at the forefront, securing the top spot. BLACKPINK and BTS followed closely, claiming the 3rd and 4th positions, respectively. Other influential K-pop acts on the global stage included ENHYPEN (6th), LE SSERAFIM (8th), and NewJeans (9th), highlighting their substantial influence throughout 2023.

The Korean chart emphasized the dominance of FIFTY FIFTY and BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, alongside rising acts like IVE and NewJeans. Japanese singer-songwriter Imase (6th) and international artist Charlie Puth (10th) added diversity to the chart. Notable K-pop groups such as NCT, TXT, Stray Kids, TWICE, SEVENTEEN, and others solidified their status as Hitmakers, showcasing the genre’s widespread appeal.

BTS’s Ongoing Impact

BTS, despite their upcoming mandatory military enlistment, continued to make headlines. BIGHIT MUSIC confirmed the enlistment plans for RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, outlining a unique approach for Jimin and Jungkook through the Companion Soldiers program. V’s application to join the Special Task Force of the Capital Defense Command added a distinctive element to the group’s military service.
