The cat is finally out of the bag! We have finally got the details about BTS member Jin’s upcoming solo venture. On October 20, 2022, the eldest member of the Bangtan Boys shared a poster of ‘The Astronaut’ confirming his participation with Coldplay on the official social media handle. The same information was also shared on Septet’s official social media accounts. Jin previously gave a spoiler about the same while performing at the BTS’ Yet to Come concert in Busan, held on October 15, 2022.
Jin’s statement
Jin reportedly confirmed his solo release at the Busan concert and said, “It’s not a huge album or anything, it’s just a single. I’ve filmed a lot different things recently, and there’s still a lot left to film, so I hope you’ll enjoy all of it.” The upcoming collaboration is supposed to be Jin’s first-ever solo release since the Bangtan Boys announced that its seven members taking a hiatus earlier this June.
Coldplay and Jin
Talking about Jin and Coldplay, the duo is working together again after ‘My Universe’, which was released in September last year. For the unversed, Coldplay has written, co-composed, and performed on Jin’s single. Now, the artists are back and expected to show a different charm and energy in ‘The Astronaut.’ Prior to the release of the much-awaited single, Jin is expected to share multiple concept photos and music video teasers.

Earlier speculations suggested that Jin would be collaborating with the British band Coldplay for his solo debut. However, neither Jin nor BIGHIT Music has given any details about the same. A representative of the agency reportedly said, “Jin will release his solo single at the end of October.” As published in Soompi, the agency also said, “The exact details of the date and time, collaboration, and more will be revealed later. We ask for your understanding.”
Now, BIGHIT Music has released another statement that reads, “We’d like to inform you about BTS Jin’s participation in Coldplay’s world tour. In the Argentina concert of Coldplay’s “MUSIC of the SPHERES Tour,” Jin will be performing “The Astronaut” with Coldplay.”

Military enlistment
The BTS members will be serving their mandatory military service, and now, the statement is official. BigHit Music, the label associated with the band, has confirmed the same. After years of speculation and internal discussions among the South Korean government authorities, it is finally decided that the Septet members will serve their military terms. Jin, the eldest member of the group, is the first one to enlist in the service, as per the official announcement.
In the same statement, BIGHIT also stated that they would withdraw their request to delay Jin’s enlistment until the end of the month and follow the administration’s enlistment procedures.
