BTS leader RM’s fans are elated as he has made his solo debut on the United Kingdom’s Official Albums Chart. On December 6, 2022, RM entered not one but several of the United Kingdom’s Official Charts which are typically regarded as the equivalent to Billboard’s US charts with his new solo album titled ‘Indigo.’
For the week starting from December 9 to 15, 2022, RM’s solo album ‘Indigo’ debuted at No. 45 on the renowned Official Albums Chart. With this achievement, Kim Namjoon has become the third-ever Korean soloist ever to have entered the chart. With this, he also follows the bandwagon of his group colleagues Suga (D-2), and J-Hope (Jack In The Box). For the unversed, ‘Indigo’ also debuted at No. 4 on the UK Official Albums Downloads Chart and No. 55 on the Official Albums Sales Chart for this week. On the other hand, the solo album’s title track ‘Wild Flower’ featuring Cho Youjeen, debuted at No. 8 on the Official Singles Downloads Chart and at No. 10 on the Official Singles Sales Chart.
On December 2, 2022, the BTS leader finally released his highly-anticipated album which earned rave reviews from fans and critics globally. Not only that but the album also topped several international and domestic music charts across the globe, and one such chart is the international music streaming platform Spotify.
Indigo has now set the record for the biggest debut for an album by any Korean soloist in Spotify’s history, which has surpassed over 20 million streams.
