The BTS members have finally enlisted for the military, and the Army eagerly awaits their reunion which will reportedly happen in 2025. In the midst of all this, the fans do not fail to keep track of the members and their activities through social media and other platforms. Moreover, their respective tracks and albums continue to break records on one platform or the other. However, there is something shocking that recently happened and grabbed the reports like no other!

BTS’ Ranking Slips for the 1st Time!

The Bangtan Boys has consistently dominated the monthly brand reputation ranking for the past 67 months. This particular ranking has been conducted by the Korea Brand Reputation Research Institute. However, the latest report for January 2024 reveals a drastic shift as another K-pop group,  SEVENTEEN, has claimed the top spot on the list. This has dethroned the earlier reigning kings, the BTS. These specific rankings on the list change every month. But the BTS members have also claimed the top spot for the longest possible time.

However, this month’s rankings tell a completely different story. Another popular K-pop group, SEVENTEEN has now claimed the top spot in the K-pop boy group brand reputation ranking. This basically owes to the group’s recent impressive surge in popularity, particularly in terms of album sales.

Who Claimed the Second Spot?

If any of you are thinking that the BTS members have slipped to the second spot on the list, then you are absolutely wrong. That is because NCT has grabbed this spot, which means the Bangtan Boys went down to the third rank on the list. So, the brand reputation rankings for January 2024 are as follows:

  1. SEVENTEEN
  2. NCT
  3. BTS
  4. RIIZE
  5. ZEROBASEONE
  6. THE BOYZ
  7. Stray Kids
  8. EXO
  9. SHINee
  10. ASTRO
  11. ATEEZ
  12. Super Junior
  13. TVXQ
  14. BTOB
  15. BOYNEXTDOOR

SEVENTEEN Vs BTS

This is not the first time that the SEVENTEEN members have outperformed BTS. Previously, the K-pop group had also achieved a groundbreaking feat by selling over 10 million album copies from January to November 2023 a year ago. The group’s FML stood out to be one of the biggest all-time hits in the era. The members of the Bangtan Boys surpassed BTS’ previous record of selling around 5.03 million units during the Map of the Soul: 7 eras. Moreover, the first-week sales of FML exceeded the pre-orders for the latter’s album Map of the Soul: PERSONA by around 1 million copies.
