BTS’ meeting with US president Joe Biden: Here’s what you need to know

The army is quite excited as the BTS members are all set to meet US president Joe Biden to discuss important matters associated with Asian inclusion and representation. It was reported on May 26, 2022, that the Bangtan Boys will be jetting off to the US again to meet Biden at the White House. For the unversed, the announcement comes at the end of May which is also the AANHPI (Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders) Heritage Month. BTS’ youngest member Jungkook flew to the United States on May 28 while the rest of the members reached there on May 29, 2022.

Meeting details

As the day of the historic meeting is nearing, we are getting more details about the same. Reportedly, the details are confirmed by a press assistant from the White House itself. For the unversed, the BTS members will be meeting US President Joe Biden on June 1, 2022, at 12.30 am IST. The meeting will reportedly take place in the Oval Office of the White House and the event will also be closed press. The agenda involves addressing the topics of Asian inclusion and representation, addressing anti-Asian hate crimes, discrimination, etc.

Reactions to the meeting

It seems like not only the army but many other well-wishers from around the world are excited about BTS’ meeting with the US President. If it wasn’t enough, a few US senators are also looking forward to the much-awaited meeting. For instance, Natalie Andrews who is a congressional correspondent for The Wall Street Journal has tweeted on behalf of Mazie Hirono, a US senator. The latter is reportedly looking forward to her invite to see BTS in the White House. She also stated that she is the only senator who knows about the upcoming meeting.

Another US senator, Cris Croons, could not contain his excitement and shared the picture of a BTS standee on his desk. Another senator, Hirono, was quick to respond to the picture and the tweet caption and asked whether the former is a true fan of the Bangtan Boys.

Apart from the meeting, the army is also excited about the release of BTS’ comeback anthology album Proof which is scheduled for a release on June 10, 2022. The tracklist of the new album is already revealed and will include three new tracks from the part of the Septet.
