It seems like the BTS members are all set to give more surprises to the army around the world. After having released their much-awaited anthology album Proof, the members have remained in the news for multiple pieces of news. Well, the latest one is something that is sure to make the army proud. It is because BTS has been appointed as the ambassador for the Busan World Expo 2030 bid.
On June 24, 2022, HYBE’s CEO Park Jiwon, chairman Bang Si Hyuk, and the Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City Park Hyeong Joon signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the Busan Metropolitan City Hall. The agreement was made in an effort to promote the upcoming expo bid with the 21st-century pop icons in the limelight.

More on the expo
The BTS will not only be the brand ambassadors for the Busan World Expo 2030, but they will also be holding a global concert for the same. Furthermore, they will be participating as goodwill ambassadors in various activities to encourage the members of the Bureau International Des Expositions (BIE) that votes for the host country of the expo. The memorandum also includes the conditions that the Septet will have to advertise promotional videos via social media channels and provide videos and photos for the digital campaigns of Busan.
HYBE’s statement
Talking about the entire event, HYBE’s chairman Bang Si Hyung states, “Given the importance of its bid as a nation to host the World Expo 2030 in Busan, BTS and HYBE will do our best to successfully bring the World Expo to Busan. This will be a great opportunity to contribute to further development of K-Culture as well as its local pop cultures in Busan.”
On the other hand, Busan’s Mayor Park Hyeong Joon said, “I’d like to express my sincere appreciation to the members of BTS and HYBE for accepting to be the ambassadors of the World Expo 2030 in Busan. The group’s support as ambassadors will be incredibly helpful in stepping up our efforts to bring the World Expo to Busan.”

The BTS members released their album Proof on June 10, 2022, a few days ahead of their 9th debut anniversary. It was followed by a live performance on the same and releasing of a video on YouTube in which the members talk about their journeys to date and their upcoming plans. Meanwhile, Proof’s title track Yet to Come has also won the hearts of music lovers in no time. Both the album and the title track have broken multiple records on various charts to date.
